Excuse Me Wow GIF by Mashable

As expected the accounting cops are here. Just when we thought this had over performed domestically compared to how bad its in korea and few other overseas markets.

Overoerforming to its lousy tracking but underperformed to a movie with a 200 million dollar budget

Cinemascore for ROTB is in, it's an A-.

Here is the comparison:

2007: A

Revenge of the Fallen: B+

Dark of the Moon: A

Age of Extinction: A-

The Last Knight: B+

Bumblebee: A-

Bumblebee and Age of Extinction having the same score is a crime

So Deadline basically nailed early estimates. Going to have two movies over ~$57M, but neither looking to top $60M

Still a fantastic opening relative to expectations and second week hold, respectively

This would also mean the top two movies have combined $100M+ in grosses alone, in the end the theaters are the real winners this weekend.

ROTB -6.7/10.

Started great and then it was ok and fell into a generic third act that had me rolling my eyes at times.

Acting was great and the two co leads are great but the movie doesn't know what to do with them the further the movie progresses.

Enjoyed some mini arcs but wish some autobots were developed more. Pete Davidson was a standout though.

Action was well shot .

Overall there was actually a pretty good story here but along the way they decided to play it alittle to safe and in the end IMO the movie sort of failed to curve out an identity .

Did a rewatch of the series before watching ROTB ,ranking goes like this

Transformers 2007

Dark of the moon

Bumble bee

Age of extinction

Rise of the beasts

Revenge of the fallen

The last knight.

MI7 in the mix too with its 2nd weekend. Should be a great weekend for theaters. Might have issues with the allocation of screens though which is kinda a bad and good issue in a sense.

Gentle reminder that theatrical is just the first part of the financial gross for films. Always has been.

Transformers has overperformed domestically which ever way you slice it, there was a possibility it could do $30-40m just a few weeks ago.
