I'm not seeing how this gets a 3x.

It's a very highly anticipated movie, which means opening weekend should be very large, especially Thursday previews.

It's a horror movie, and horror movies rarely get 3x, and that's from much smaller openings.

This could buck the trends, but I'm not seeing it yet.  I would love to be proven wrong though!

I'm all about a monster opening weekend, but legs will be average horror legs.

70/170

This isn't your average horror movie

Anyone predicting less than 175M:

I'm honesty hoping for the best but keeping expectations moderate. Anything over 150 M would have been unbelieveable to me last year so I'd take it as a huge win.

This is what I'm dreading, another Scream 4

Ah Scream 4's run still confuses/ infuriates me. Domestically anyway.

Luckily for IT there is more actual evidence of buzz (trailer reaction/view records).

But im not going over the top.

I'll say $45m opening, $110m total.

I think I'll be pleasantly surprised though, lol.

DHD says $60M

New Line/Warner Bros.’ It came on tracking in a very strong way with predictions that are akin to a summer blockbuster. However, taking into context the fall marketplace and the time of year, analysts are simmering them to on the low end $50M, and on the high end $60M.
