There's definitely some big good luck to you, activist investors, energy here. Iger knows how to effectively use these investor calls. Moana, Taylor, Epic Games. The man can still put on a show when he needs to.

2024 should be a solid bounce back year for Disney.

Deadpool 3, IO2 ,Moana 2 are all solid 700m+ grossers at the very least.

Feel Mufasa will do solid businesses in Christmas too.

Though they are going to pump out way more sequels especially on the animation side.

If all goes really well ,2024 could be the year we get 3 animated movies crossing a billion dollar mark. (DM4,IO2,Moana 2) but one can dream.

he will not confirmed by presses. It was supposed to be a streaming series. Not sure if it will be another mediocre sequel.

I don't see how it can't be mediocre or likely worse as a straight-to-streaming product pushed to theaters.  It was designed as a streaming tv series (NOT a movie), and we've seen Disney hugely struggle trying to turn a movie into a tv series (Hi, half of the MCU streaming series), so I can't see them doing better on a tight release window with the reverse (a streaming tv show smooshed into a movie).

An empire failing so hard, the stock went up 10 points because investors are extremely worried.

Less and less people are consuming their products (Movies, Parks, Disney +, etc.) that is the definition of failure.

Stock value is irrelevant as it's purely speculative and they have been laying off many people so the corpos investing on them are happy.

Alright, see you in less than a year after the announcement that Disney+ is out of the red and profitable.

The stock went up due to the parks. In a global sense disney is fine. So it's not just laying people off.

I also know people personally who invested in Disney during the strikes. So it's not just corporate

With that being said... 2025 should be interesting. Due to epic universe

Hypothetically, how well do you think a hand drawn animated legacy sequel to one of their 90s/00s films would perform?

Reactivating Disney’s hand drawn division to do, let’s say, an Emperor’s New Groove 2 or Mulan sequel could be something really savvy from a business perspective, while also honouring the legacy of what Disney did to begin with.

Bigger news than this (which just seems like the 1000th iteration of the metaverse to me) is that they bought a $1.5 billion stake in Epic Games

I suspect all future Star Wars and any other Disney games will be using the Unreal Engine...........

Epic is interesting in that it has some big hit games 'Gears Of War" it made it's huge bucks out of licensing it's game engines.

The stock doesn’t mean anything. It was nearly twice what it is now when they were losing even more money than they are currently.

they’re worth less. Creatively bereft.  At a crossroads as they wait for Iger’s successor. A concerning time for fans of the company for sure.  I say that as a lifelong fanatic.

They were always gonna bounce back pretty soon imo. The Chapek effect was truly a huge part of their steep and sudden decline. Iger knows what he's doing, even if it's a bit safe and boring
