Roland Emmerich >>>>>>>>>> Inarritu

Michael Bay >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 95% of directors currently working in Hollywood.

Just seen his Benghazi movie, masterpiece.

Take note competitors, this is how you direct a fucking movie.

This is like American Sniper but with talented people involved instead.

I didn't like Inarritu that much until Birdman. I like Bay when he's in blockbuster mode, not so much when he's trying to get people to take him seriously i.e. 13 Hours, Pearl Harbor, Pain and Gain.

They're two sci-fi movies on the same exact date, and STX is a new studio with not a whole lot of money. Maybe they know Passengers won't be ready?

Since they were coming out in August before, maybe they decided THEY weren't ready.  Maybe the reaction to FSOJ made them want time to do more marketing.  I agree it is odd, though.

I couldn't find anything on this, though.  There are articles today still saying that come out August 19.  Where did you see it?

Settle down, Beavis.

You said they had a good year, not that they had a good year compared to 2015.

Plus, it was just a joke.

And how was I supposed to know it was just a joke? You said it a vague enough way that I immediately assumed you were saying Sony are sucking because their year is far inferior to Disney's. And btw, compared to 2015 or on its own, Sony's year is good so far, period. Many more successes than flops, regardless of it they were big hits or smaller ones.

Now I'm settled, Butthead... or am I?

Fox releasing Apocalypse reviews 2 weeks early and Sony embargoing Shallows reviews till day of release pretty much shows that studios have no idea what critics will like or dislike. IDR was weird though with critics not even watching the movie till after release.

Doesn't that have to do with release dates, though? X-Men Apocalypse debuted internationally about 2 weeks prior to USA. Shallows was released first in USA. BFG has reviews out because of Cannes.

Edge of Tomorrow is awesome but what does Tom Cruise do that isn't?

Getting in the way of Katie Holmes' acting career.

Inarritu talk with my friend is horrible, she talks about him as though he is the second coming of Christ or something. Almost as bad as Tarantino, cause if I ever say I didn't like either one of their films, I'm apparently just a "stuck up snob who doesn't understand film".

I kind of hate Biutiful. The definition of misery porn.
