Sunday was significantly underestimated in the UK too. Official £19.7m ($24.5m) opening compared to £18.4m ($22.8m) estimate. Only films that opened higher were SW7, DH2, Skyfall and Spectre, although the latter two are within £500k of BatB.

Thursday Previews: $16.3 million

Real Friday: $47.5 million

Saturday: $62.7 million (+32%)

Sunday: $48.3 million (-23%)

 

Weekend Total: $174.8 million

 

This gives Beauty 6th highest opening weekend of all time.

Insert Harvey Keitel from Pulp Fiction here. That's a ridiculous statement. Give her some time before you can make some kind of claim like that. For about 25 years Harrison Ford could headline a film all by himself. Emma Watson is definitely not there yet. She may very well be on her way but she's not there yet.
