Really depends on what you're looking for, but usually the most important takeaway for just a casual glance is the comp.  More on that in a bit.   But even that is highly dependent on a movie being either in a similar genre or having a similar pre-sale pattern as folks will buy tickets at different times during a pre-sale window thanks to a very long list of factors.   Add in that movies will have different promotional schedules during their pre-sales (review embargoes, TV ca

I hope it's okay for me to add that middle week's numbers, update the 25/4/18 sales and add fan event sales + marathon tickets (very small % of sales but only categories not included in your totals) from either my countings or @TalismanRing 's total numbers (by subtracting your 4 category numbers from those totals). I also updated your 16th of April numbers, those were missing some hours maybe? Actually your and my 2D numbers are exactly the same, it's just that your other numbers are low and total compared to my & @TalismanRing's count. I compared my and @TalismanRing's count that day and they were around the same. Chose to update with my counts because of the split category numbers.

Few things: 24 day total for categories is missing 13 hours, 24 day grand total is missing 11 hours of sales as notified above. 

 

2-8 April 2018 week sales: 34699 total sales, %66.6 2D share, %14.8 3D share, %11 I2D share, %7 I3D share. Again, last 11 hours of this week's sales are not included.

 

9-15 April 2018 week sales: 69208 total sales (%199 of previous week's), %66.5 2D share, %15.6 3D share, %10.3 I2D share, %7 I3D share. 

 

16-22 April 2018 week: 132.394 total sales which is %191 of previous week's. Don't want to do category shares here as total sales numbers are complete but category numbers are missing this week's last two hours.

 

Last 3 days have already become %130 of last week's total sales btw. 

 

It's a half decent 24-day before preview day Fandango sales info imo. Don't think anybody here has data to compare for AIW but it might be somewhat useful for future mega openers at least.

Makes sense for TLJ to have been higher on movietickets not even taking into account Star Wars being presales heavy.  The weekend total for all movies before TLJ came out was $83.0m while this past weekend was $125.3m, so we should expect the same amount of presales for TLJ to be a higher share of total presales at the same point compared to IW.

I didn't expect $150M to be it's first tracking numbers. $170M is 100% on the cards especially if it is well received

IW is actually slightly higher than TLJ on MT right now at the same point in time.
