Didn't Pulse just add a top 5 feature though? I don't get why they would take it down right after adding a new feature

Wasn't there always a Top 5 feature though, at least on the iPad version?

Idk about the iPad but it definitely wasn't there in the desktop version

It's always existed but I could never get it to show on desktop. If it started to recently, maybe they fixed it before canning Pulse entirely. Perhaps they don't have the staff to maintain now?

I'm surprised the details of Fandango were available as long as they were. To me it seems obvious they don't want their proprietary data available to the general public. That other time it was down for a day I thought they had caught on and were shutting it down.

Also IMO the range for Spiderman is 140-160 for 6 days.

But it's not their full data. It's just a sample of their data and not always an exactly accurate one, so I don't see why they would care all that much.

Spiderman is not doing 140 lmao. It did 97.5m in 3 days in China.

Aquaman and Venom made 95 mil and 110 mil respectively. 140 seems too low (my prediction is 190 mil) but I wouldn't use China as a way to predict the NA opening.

I'm comfortable saying 140 is never happening. 175-225 wide range with so many unknowns thanks to pulse.

It's data they gather that is pulled from their site and that they use to promote themselves. Guaranteed they don't want other people to have any piece of it.

Then why would they make Pulse in the first place, given that the whole point of it is to show the trends on Fandango?

@menor Pulse the way we used it was sort of an accident.  Fandango had set up a data viz / marketing page which purported to show you who was buying tickets across the country and to what shows.  These sales were a little scrubbed to be less identifying.  In the back end of it, however, it got the data through an api call before the page scrubbed some info and posted the sales on a map.  The akvalley rip was setup to pull the clean data from the api, and so we were getting hourly updates of the last 4000 tickets sold each hour.

Fandango had already stopped linking to their dataviz page, and it was only a matter of time before somebody realized that they had no internal use for the api and killed it on an update.  That stream of data is dead for now until we find another backdoor into fandango or atom.

*These shows are glitched sell-outs. However because of the pattern the showtimes form, it's safe to assume how many seats are in the theater and the zero have been sold so far based on how other shows around that time are doing.

I guess we need @Deep Wang more desperately now than ever before. It was a bit strange to me how Fandango was just spewing so much of their data out into the world for us — the weird thing is how they let it be for so long.
