It will most likely do its part, as current projections for the Warner Bros. film’s domestic opening weekend stand north of $100 million. That’s far above the studio’s more conservative estimate between $65 million and $75 million. Overseas, the movie should score as well — its worldwide grosses by the end of the weekend may exceed $175 million.

Helpful

The weekend’s only other major opening is Fox’s “Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie,” which is anticipating a more modest take in the $25 million to $30 million range.

That doesn't really make a difference though with percentages.

Oh for sure, just that in terms of overall sales it's better to have a stronger showing on Fandango than MT. (Obviously it's moot if a movie is doing well on both).

Fandango doesn't give us %s  though.  The best we can do now is count sales on the Pulse Meter and make comparisons and 1) sales don't tell us how many tickets sold and 2) it's a PITA

Well, WW is up to 23.6% on MT vs POTC5's 27.1%. The #'s will probably only update once more today so WW will probably come up just short of #1 today. Not that it matters all that much.

WW is #1, 4 and 5 on Pulse.

Unless they've changed their M.O. Movie tickets updates throughout the day

WW now averaging 45 sales a minute on Fandango.  (Pirates last Wed -32)  CU about 4.

MT stops updating at around 4 or 5pm Pacific time and starts again at 5 or 6am pacific time. They don't update through the day.

I was told Wonder Woman didn't cost less than $200M and that early reactions didn't mean it would get a great RT score, now told it won't open big, hope these people are wrong again.

$149m budget

94% and certified fresh on RT

What a great day!! :)

Four weeks of the summer season and already clickbait talk of "save the summer box office." Jesus. Thank goodness we still have all of June, July and August to go, otherwise Hollywood might as well close up shop.

And talk of WW now reaching at least $100 million opening weekend shouldn't be surprising, it's expected.
