The Witcher (Netflix) : Netflix's Game of Thrones?

Recommended Posts

Finally finishing the Witcher 3 storyline after a year-plus hiatus. It definitely lends itself to the screen albeit a (very) big budget production given the complexities of the game universe and heavy reliance on CGI.

Watched the first 3 episodes and it's pretty good, actually. You can tell Henry is a fan of the games, he channels Doug Cockle well. He's a standout as Geralt. It's a bit difficult sometimes to get a handle of all the names of people and places that get thrown around even for someone who's somewhat familiar with the story but that's difficult to avoid when you do worldbuilding. Netflix spared nary an expense and it shows. Also, that swordfight in Blaviken in episode one is some of the best i have seen in any media.

Only played Witcher 3 but so far after 3 episodes its pretty good.

Cavill as Geralt and the fight scenes are the highlights so far along with Yennnifer's story. The music is great too. Lots of set up and so far and the pacing isn't the best especially trying too world-build with events going on during different time periods. The dialogue could be better too.

Been reading the discussions on the Witcher subreddit after each episode and it seems like they are rushing through the stories and cutting out scenes from the book that would enhance the show.

Going to try and finish the remaining episodes today or tomorrow.
