That being said, coming from someone that was adamant that it would top out at, AT BEST, a 2.4x multiplier, it's for sure gonna be over 2.55x, more in line with a 2.65 range, maybe higher, so it's gonna outperform my most optimistic expectations for sure. And Marvel is gonna have two movies O/U 700M DOM in the same year. That is a feat, if there ever was one. Ant-Man 2 on top could push the MCU's DOM total of 2018 alone well over 1.5B, which is half of Disney's (and the overall) biggest DOM year ever - 2016, just over 3B - in three movies alone

But club are often made with a less than 50% chance to happen (and people will say IN even with a less than 50% to win in mind) wishful thinking sometime.

 

The legs were not much better than the Avengers so far too right ?

 

 

Avenger Thursday: 21.73% of is Sunday, 5.97% of is OW

Ultron Thursday: 17.17% of is Sunday, 4.5% of is OW

IW thursday, 22.4% of is Sunday, 6% of is OW

 

That is margin of error close and even avengers dropped a tiny bit more than 50% with -50.3%, in the midnight previews era. Reasonable to expect much better hold than Ultron -60%, but significantly better than Avengers that had one of the best hold for that type of movie ever ? Even Dark Knight had a worst hold with -52.5% than Avengers.

Lots of folk thinking it would beat Avatar. Internal weekend holds were very good so I wasn’t ruling it out but it was optimistic for sure.
