And "THe Loudest Voice" the Showtime mini series about Roger Ailes and Fox News, with Russel Crowe as Ailes, premiers this month on Showtime and Showtime is really pushing it very heavily. And from the trailers it will cover a lot of the same material. Not good for "Fair and Balanced". Even with a big name cast, it's hard to sell people something they just saw for free a few months ago.

Loudest Voice got bad reviews so I don't think it'll matter if the movie's good and has Oscar buzz.

The floppage of Smash is truly one for the books tbh. Was hyped to be the show that would save NBC for months with a major marketing campaign and the pilot was extremely well-received. And then, it became the show that more or less coined the term "hate-watching" due to everyone tuning in to mock all of its awful creative choices by the fourth episode and never recovered. Most movie franchises can only dream of achieving that level of implosion that quick.

Isn’t Annapurna gone now? The cast is somewhat interesting least to say, I like John Lithgow and Charlize Theron, so this should be something.

Nah, Daddy is taking care of the banks

The settlement with the banks isn’t quite done but is on the way. Sources in banking circles said that had Annapurna been placed in Chapter 11, the syndicate of senior lenders might only have gotten 50 cents-60 cents on the dollar. All along, many felt that Larry Ellison would not subject his daughter to the embarrassment of Chapter 11, though he clearly has gotten more involved in trying to set some fiscal discipline within the company a year ago, when two films — Hustlers and the untitled Roger Ailes movie — were dropped. Both found other backers.

“This is rich people problems,” quipped one in the lending community.

Annapurna is not out of business but they did sell this film to Lionsgate last year.

IT’s really quite surprising to me that there are two campy looking projects about this story and Ryan Murphy isn’t involved with either of them.

He's about to get into the #topical game with American Crime Story: Impeachment about the Lewinsky scandal next year.
