Seriously though, they better seriously bump up the story and characterisation, because JW3 started to run out of steam towards the end.

I mean honestly, ill always say that every movie should get the runtime it truly needs - so if John Wick 4 truly works best at nearly 3 hours, then all props to the director/writer and ill be blown away.

 

But i fear that this is not the case. John Wick 3 was already the limit for me personally if it comes to constant action. I really hope this one restrains itself a bit more and gives us more interesting storybeats.

Correct me if i'm wrong but pre-covid delays, they were gonna film JW4 and 5 back to back. I wonder if they scrapped 5 and are making 4 a super sized finale?

What story and characterization??  There hasn't been anymore character development to Wick since the first movie.  It's just been more and more lore and world building to explain why he has to keep killing and it's getting less and less compelling tbh.

It's gonna be hard, JW3 was clearly supposed to be the end, but then they did this bad decision to drag the storyline way past its natural progression to pop out more movies. At this point they just come up with all kinds of nonsense on the go to find excuses why it's still going, JW3 already suffered from it in that dumb ending.
