16 would give it 56-58M depending on Saturday. Addams looking at 30-32M, Gemini looking at O/U 20.

To put that Joker second weekend into perspective, that would have been an October OW record prior to last year.

$100M DOM for Addams? That’s a major win for MGM/UA and animation this year.

Yes, I was just about to comment that 100m should be on the table for a Halloween theme friendly family film off a 30m OW.  Still want to see the Sat number, but this might be a pleasant surprise given it wasn't on 100m DOM Record Year radar (at least I don't think it was).

India is looking like is under 15% drop for FSS and around 45% drop from 5 days opening frame which had Holiday on Wednesday. Simply outstanding.

If India is getting this, rest of world will be better. Australia e.g. may be around 30-35% drop.

That said, giving 45% drop gives 83mn, adding, I haven't checked, 15mn for France & Germany gets to almost 100mn FSS.

Ex for big market potentially :

In Italy 10%

Spain 20-30%

UK 30-40%

Russia 40-50%

Mexico 40-50%

SK 50%

Japan >50 % because typhoon

Even for Indonesia it will also have below 50% drop crazy for superheroes movies. Never seen that before. Also most of Europe smaller will have good drop. Surely it reach 100 million OS weekend.

I figured Joker wouldn't come anywhere close to CM's 2nd weekend, low 50s is still not that bad for a DC film (which are usually very front-loaded with the exception of Wonder Woman).

what a boring weekend though :raining:

Aquaman wasn’t front loaded either 😉

I mean CM opened 60M higher so I’m not sure why anyone expected it to get close

I won't harp on anyone if they are disappointed if it doesn't do 60m in the 2nd weekend. I was disappointed in the idea of 85 (considered it average) granted I did think 95 would be awesome..

Fact is let's say it's 55. That's a 42.9% drop. That's just outrageously good. 58m is literally under 40%

Was it commented on that TLK had an expansion for some reason this weekend?

Trying to secure 550m???  Kinda a bit far away to hit it though, right?

Any other reason for a mini-expansion here?  Besides just Disney saying "We can do it, so why not?"

Taking advantage of a super weak openers and joker doesn't really compete with it?

Monday is Columbus Day, which is a day off for many schools, so they probably wanted to see if they could get one more week out of it. It's only playing 1-2 shows a day everywhere around here.

Basically "we can do it, so why not" then?  Kinda refreshing to see a mini-expansion just to take advantage of a weak time instead of shooting for a dollar goal or holiday.

Though, I suppose Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples' Day followed by Canadian Thanksgiving is a holiday, if not nearly on the level of Labor Day and the like.

Interesting to see, nonetheless.

Yeah, I thought of that along with Thanksgiving in Canada while typing up my last post.

Is it usual to see a Disney expansion here though?  Going by the last few years, doesn't look like it.

Christopher Robin got a re-expansion last year adding almost a thousand theaters back.

That was last weekend, last year wasn't it?

*checks*

Oh, I see.  Columbus Day was on the 8th last year.  That's why I didn't see it on my rudimentary check.  Fair enough then. :)

My local drive-in reports super late (Tue of release week or so), but it seems fairly logical.  It's the most recent Disney flick out there and TS4 already had its drive-in push (when TLK launched, natch).
