And I was not the only one predicting Doolittle would bomb very badly.

Doesn't matter if you're not the only one. Repeating the same thing ad nauseum isn't endearing. It's annoying.

Same here, keeps me from being overly disappointed if something doesnt meet my already lower expectations.

But your constant nagging isnt a positive behavior to be proud of.

28m for a film with a 175 Million plus budget ...which means a break even point of 350 Million...is tragic .

Once again, to talk about how a film is doing at the box office without taking the film's cost into account is ridiculous.

I said overperformance. i.e. do better than thought it would do. I was expecting teen numbers.

This. I agree there. That might be even more annoying if it’s always about movies that bomb badly rather than breaking out, like Bad Boys 3 is doing now.

Fair enough. But it’s a rather unhealthy habit to think too much on movies that are failing rather than surprise hits. I agree with narnialadis, you’re repeating the exact same thing over and over with reality...way too much. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Move on and focus more on movies that...well, are more worth talking about, like the breakout-hits rather than those you constantly saying that will bomb. Cause let’s be honest: have you ever been wrong about certain movies that performed...way above expectations?

Gonna be a rough few weeks until Birds of Prey gets here. I could see The Rhythm Section completely flopping The Kitchen style tbh.

Agreed. Hopefully Gentlemen does something but I seriously doubt it. Don't really see anything opening over 10M until BoP. Hopefully Bad Boys and 1917 have some nice legs to keep us interested.

Agreed. There’s a lot more to talk about rather than focus way too much on only one movie...(which usually are box office flops. And doodie-boy just keeps talking about how Dolittle will bomb. And I’m just like “Yeah, yeah, we get it already. No need to constantly care so much about the negative aspects of the box office bomb, and instead move on to something better like a surprise hit like Bad Boys 3 now for example”.

20 Million up front money.

WSJ: Mr. Downey is set to receive a share of the film’s box-office revenues, in addition to a $20 million salary, according to a person familiar with the deal. Now rare, such sweetheart deals were once regularly awarded to Hollywood’s top stars, allowing them to receive a chunk of ticket sales even before the studio recouped all its costs.

I think The Gentlemen will do okay but Guy Ritchie's gangster films have never been that successful stateside. Even Snatch only made $30m domestic.
