I know I’m going to get shit for this, but eh, LFG.   We are a box office forum. We talk about Avatar excessively because it’s the biggest box office film of all time.  Most of the other places on The Internet TM do not. For the General Audience, this is a sequel to that cool movie from 12 years ago. To Nerd Culture, it’s the sequel to the movie they love to mock and meme. WB should have kept Shazam on the schedule regardless of how Avatar performs. There's definitely room for another high profile release. Especially as Shazam 2 is now going to get released amidst a DC reboot.

 

My understanding though was that the delay was due to the post production backlog. They just couldn't get things out in time.

I know it means very little in the grand scheme of things (more so as i'm in the UK and not the US), but i have had a tab open for 6 days now with my local Vue multiplex. And there are 32 showings on Friday and Saturday, and 30 on Sunday. Anyway all week the 3D showing have been pretty full, to almost booked out barring a few seats right at the front. The 2D showing though have been sparse all week. 10-15 booking on average per 2D show all week. Now today most of those showings have doubled, with a couple of the early evening 2D showings nearly full like the 3D showings.

I'm only mentioning this because maybe there are going to be a lot of walk ups or late bookings. Again i'm in the UK but dont see why it couldnt be similar in the US, or anywhere really.

Mine can actually change quite a lot depending on my mood, i ,mean i love all his movies to be honest.

Again the films can change depending on mood, although ALIENS is always top, and has been since i saw it as a kid lol.

With the amount of screens A2 is getting?  It was absolutely the right decision.

 

It's not just dollars, but real estate, and A2 is absolutely gobbling up all the screens it can.  And not just because of runtime, but because of having extra screens devoted to 3D (or, if one prefers, adding more 2D screens for the plebs who are demanding it with their wallets).

 

Now A3?  That's all gonna be down to the legs, as I do agree with @stuart360 that there's a lot of premature spiking of the football goin' on in this thread.
