Hatebox
Chalk up another TDK guy here. I had been conscious of what had done well or badly a lot earlier, but that film definitely instigated a more acute interest.
junkshop36
For me it started with Titanic because of its amazing run which then lead to the release of TPM which really sucked me in 100%. Been following the box office ever since.
jb007
I started following box office in 1981 with the release of Superman 2 and Raiders of the Lost Ark. I tarcked box office info. from magazines that would print weekend/weekly numbers for the movies.
SchumacherFTW
Started off with Return of the King, but I think I really started taking notice with Revenge of the Sith. That thing had so much hype from us boys at school. Only thing that felt ever felt even remotely close was Harry Potter 1 and The Simpsons Movie. FilmBuff
Shrek 2's run really started it for me. POTC:Dead Men's Chest and The Dark Knight are some of the more impressive one's I've seen.

Claire of Themyscira
Well it was around the Dark Knight when I had gotten interested, but New Moon had me get much more involved.
MovieGuyKyle16
well it started when I was a kid I remember how every once in a while the news and in the newspaper would have a little entertainment news every monday and have a box office report. I was hooked from that moment because I was always curious what movie audiences were interested in.
rcalcagn
When my family got the internet around the middle of 2001, but I didn't join Mojo's Forums until about January 2007, which is strange looking back...
BK007
No idea. 2005 though. Drifted in through Yahoo! went Brandon Gray was occasionally quoted or BOM was referred to. Remember knowing about the ROTS/Mad/Longest Yard but might've been earlier. Actually that may not be it, account only at the end of 2005 when Narnia/Kong/Potter were out. Gotta love that year's blockbusters.

Cedarpoint1111
I became a little interested in box office numbers in 2005 with Goblet of Fire but then I became addicted when Lion, Witch, Wardrobe came out. lab276
I was always sort of interested in it, but Avatar beating Titanic is what really got me engaged, because it doesn't happen often that the highest grossing film gets beaten. I didn't join Mojo until HTTYD though.
tracygee
Hmmmm...I started following the box office whenever I started playing HSX. That's probably been ten, twelve years ago, maybe?
