Doubt New gods factored into things at all, and “severely miscalculated” is… well… might want to wait for the movie to come out.

Sounds too much of a coincidence to greenlight a movie directed by a WOC based on a property that Jack Kirby meant to be the substitute of another property that had its own movie just announced with another WOC director at the time.

I said "seems" to have severely miscalculated but at this point, the first rotten MCU film is an L in itself. An eventual rotten movie was inevitable, but an Eternals movie could have easily been avoided in the first place.

I hate to prolong this but it has been posted gazillion times that RT does not put the review as fresh or rotten. The reviewer himself does it. That is why one 3/5 could be fresh and other 3.5/5 could be rotten.

Still taking a bigger picture Enjoy the movie guys. RT does not matter. Maybe use RT to keep expectations low and you could be pleasantly surprised.

Still weird, how could a 70/100 turn into a negative review.

I do feel actually a bit bad for the eternals crew but hey, that’s life.

However Marvel clearly thought they had something special here, no way would they have dropped the embargo that early if they knew that’s the reaction they’d get.

The reactions have effected ticket sales and everyone has already moved on to No Way Home lol.

I just never understood giving the Eternals a movie. This is akin to DC making a Forever People movie

You’re right. Should have just done MCU X-Men.

However I think after Guardians, Marvel probably thought they could make any of their comic characters popular and I do think they can.

However it looks like Eternals is a bit of a mess that took itself way too seriously. Also they don’t really have a comics fan base to support them because no one ever cared about them lol.
