The early June release date sucks. Everyone is spent after May/Memorial Day, it's finals/graduation/nice weather season.

Nowadays is so different than the 80s and 90s. W/ exception of Christmas, biggest openings happen when people are in the middle of life routine and want a break. Millennials LOVE their travel making most weekends poor choices.

Wonder Woman 1984 needs to move and get ahead of BLACK WIDOW if it wants to be the mega blockbuster it can be. The June 5th date sucks.

That release date really hurt the first Wonder Woman.

Looks like Godzilla v Kong will likely be delayed

Toby Emmerich briefly talks about how Godzilla vs kong could be delayed towards later in 2020 to make an "A+" movie which is translation for "reshoots".

Studios/Directors/Producers openly admitting that they went wrong is always a good sign. Some blame fans back lol.

Also GvK needed some breathing space after this debacle. And guess what, Christmas is empty.

You're not seeing that many movies this year, I assume?

I'm skipping out on the ones that look really bad, so Brightburn just slipped through the cracks. I watch a lot of stuff in Q4 though, since that's when a bulk of the interesting stuff is out.

Crazy how this very quickly became the summer of Keanu. John Wick blew up, he seems to be the highlight of TS4 (which will make buckets), and he stole the show in ABMM. Add in one other movie I’ll be vague about and that’s four movies for the Guy that hit the zeitgeist over four months.

Christmas is no longer empty. Sony just dated Uncharted to Dec 18, 2020. It will battle Disney/Fox's West Side Story on that date, and Disney's Cruella and Uni's The Croods 2 a week later.

WB should see if Gunn can get suicide squad done by then. I’m sure with a similar turn around of GOTG it’s be possible and I’m sure gunn wants to get done with that as soon as he can so he can do guardians 3 in a timely manner

King Kong did alright at christmas back in 2005. Wouldn't have thought of GvK being a xmas release but its definitely quieter. Depends on how long they need to work on it. I mean August is empty.

Uncharted is bombing. They need to put a big movie there, like Suicide Squad 2 or something, not GvK - which sounds DOA.
