The New Mutants | August 28, 2020 | Rumors are saying it released, but no one we know saw it

Recommended Posts

The SHH "leak" has been ridiculous from the start, the guy prefaced it all by saying he worked on the catering side and then proceeds to tell all those things that only people who are actually working on the movie itself would know, so completely over the top.

Would not give much credence to that Scott Bechtel dude either. All we hear are rumors. Trades, you know, actually reliable, have said back when the delay was announced that the film tested WELL. Some people online have said that they supposedly saw test screenings and the film was good, they might be lying, who knows at this point.

Nobody knows what the hell they're doing, they're probably just caught in that stupid ass Disney-Fox merger and will probably be a casualty in some way. Let's talk about that Hulu rumor. THINK for two seconds. Hulu is US only for now, Disney + won't come until late 2019 supposedly, Disney has plans to expand Hulu internationally but who knows how long that's going to take. They are not releasing The New Mutants this year on Hulu if only U.S folks can see it. And of course, the purist in me is shaking his head at the idea of watching this film on Hulu in highly compressed 1080p.

As far as we know, it is still getting released in some form (because let's face it, there is no scenario where the film would be shelved when Fox must have put in, let's say, 70-80 M in it?!) plus, what do they care, if Fox's X-Men universe is really getting rebooted and New Mutants has no actual future, just release it as is. There was that other rumor a few days ago from Thomas Polito on Twitter (haven't seen if you guys talked about it here), he's usually reliable, and he said that apparently the reshoots have NOT happened and Kinberg supposedly doesn't like what Boone did (said to be new and different) and wanted to reshoot 3/4 of it. So we're in limbo right now.

Now, if some of the folks here could put the knives away and stop salivating at the possibility that the film is in trouble, that would be nice.

They definitely lie, all of them, you don't reshoot at least half of the movie with 1.5 year delay if it tested well, especially months before the release with marketing already on. It's just misinformation and damage control. Fox bird, Frosty aka "reliable trade", actually reported that bs excuse "we made a good movie and now we're going to reshoot half of it with huge delay to make it even better" and then weeks before The Predator release he stated that "reshoots saved the movie and now it's really good", which resulted in 34% on RT and 5.5/10 on imdb.

What they have on hands is probably 5-10% on Rotten Tomatoes level movie, you can say that by their body movements, they just don't know what to do with it and how to recoup its budget.

Yes I did and I don’t think they’d be publishing the article if the rumors had no truth to them whatsoever.

Lmao what. Screenrant is one of the most unreliable sources out there. They post any rumor and love clickbait, they're not a reliable source like Variety, Deadline, or THR.

The "source" for the Screen Rant article is the same Scott Bechtel tweet that was posted in this thread a few days ago.  The one that started "heard a whisper through the grapevine".  How many degrees of separation from the production of the movie does that vine start, only he can say and he isn't.  For all we know he read it on the SHH forum.  But he has responded to all of the hoopla since then.

his source is not from shh.

also there's another tweet from other person that simon kinberg was goinig to do reshoot.

anyway. as someone said you don't reshoot more than 50% of film with new characters, with "1 year 4months" delay after film is 100% done, promotion has just begun with official first trailer If the film tested well and fine. lol

not to mention 1 year later, they didn't even started the reshoot which was the reason of huge dealy.

Yeah it clearly has problems.  No one needs friends on the lot to see that.  It's in plain sight.
