China Box Office Thread | Oppenheimer-August 30

Hmm wonder if China box office will go up with new trailers. I am typically pragmatic when it comes to movies and never see any more than once in theaters. I've seen at least 500+ and maybe 3 or 4 twice ever. However now that I can see it again on the 22nd and then immediately see End Game 4 days later I will do so.

Wow, More than Blue is having a small break out what I sort of expected.  Not bad at all; a film filled with heart and pretty touching film.

Venom's opening and hold literally defy all logic. Aquaman makes perfect sense and is awesome. That movie was so good. I have aquaman above almost all marvel films imo of course.

 

I'm assuming Wandering earth had a great multiplier after it's monster first week. Is it really that good? It looks awesome.

I mean you have to assume it would do awesome. It opened to a massive amount that based on the quality of the film should have had a multiplier of like 1.4 and instead it did better than every single film superhero film except Aquaman and Dr Strange with a 60% smaller opening. It was treated like quality of Black Panther in opening and legs in the US.

Indeed absolutely insane but Venoms is more impressive to me. So mediocre but so strong.

Yeah, it's nice to see, especially considering the late release compared to other Asian markets. Feedback on social media has been good too (apart from making people cry lol). It would help if it got given more prime time showings, a lot of those are still being taken up by CM and GB.

I mean it doesn't really need good legs in china. Infinity War was super depressing (watched it again still pissed off even though I expected it) and it did 375 million. I bet it does 375+ million even with bad legs with a massive opening

 

Really curious to see what POTUS2020 and Charlie think.
