Yeah well this tweet has a pretty poster in it, I wouldn't read too much into that.

Oh I don't put too much weight into that kind of stuff, no online metric is proof of anything on its own. But I thought it was notable enough considering Cameron doesn't have a very big social media presence and some people argue there is no interest at all for this

That tweet did pop off no one can dispute that.

Marketing has been piss poor since the teaser launch. They need to ramp things up starting at D23. Show more footage and release a new trailer. Avatar Day went and hardly anything substantial came. This needs a day of Imax worldwide 15 minutes footage preview like the first one.

Why does it need that? The first one was breaking new ground with 3D and visual effects. Nobody had seen Pandora beyond concept art at that point. Made sense to do it for the first film.

This though, is a sequel, people know this is coming and there's still nearly 4 months to release. The campaign is doing fine

Some info from Jim's presentation at Digital Day 2022, an event held by the Directors Guild.

Short attention span in general these days. They should wait until mid-October or later to ramp up the marketing.
