Hardie was fine. Everyone in the movie was top notch honestly. Had no issues with anyone. Vaughn playing that sarge was noteworthy for example.

Thanks.  I shall pass this on to his aunt.

Yeah this could do great numbers in the Bible belt.

God porn movies is a legitimate genre now and this movie fits the bill.

Mel doesn't make God porn.  I don't even think he makes violence porn.  Though you can certainly take it that way.

I think there's a distinction.  Even if his movies are (well this and Passion) about faith in many ways...he does it waaaaaay better than anyone else.  In other movies it's pandering...in his, well, OK Passion, it felt like really cool lore.  Yes, to me, fiction.  But I think highly of Passion nonetheless.  He's putting his beliefs out there, but he drives a good narrative and atmosphere.  And he uses it not to preach, IMO, even if it's staunch in its point of view...

Imjust don't think it's the same.  I guess I'm saying he's miles above other Christian filmmakers.  Enough I can admire the craft even if the message is not one I believe.  But I can run with it for a couple of hours.

Boxoffice.com long range forecast update:

Hacksaw Ridge Nov 4, 2016 Lionsgate $8,000,000 $28,000,000

I think this can get 25M OW. The box office long range forecast is based on Twitter and Facebook numbers more than actual tracking.

This just sounds like an interesting take on a war movie to me, and based on a true story, at that.  I'm interested.  I hope it's good.
