Switched to normal comps since we're already pretty close to release. So the Fast 9 comp will be the worst victim of it, but it's the worst comp on here anyway

No Time To Die - NY Local - 72/1154 (6:30pm Local)

COMPS

Venom: $6.375m
HvS: $6.96m
TSS: $5.815m
It P2: $5.14m
BW: $3.98m

Two new comps since none of the comps are that great. Will add OUATIH tomorrow

Ford v Ferrari: $3.024m (movie had very little growth from M-Thur. Maybe better comp on Thur)
Bad Boys 3: $9.95m (unlike FvF - huge growth from M-Thur)

Edit:  Dune -  6/1242 (7:10pm)  (4 screens. 2 are RPX - where so far all tix are for)

Dune Thursday Showings Denver

AMC Westminster 24

Total 146 653 22.36%

AMC Highlands Ranch 24

Total 91 805 11.30%

SEATS SOLD SOLD PAST 8 HOURS TOTAL SEATS PERCENT SOLD THEATERS SHOWINGS
434 434 9413 4.61% 14 48

AMCs sold 372
Cinemarks sold 16
Regals sold 46
Harkins sold 0

Shang-Chi day 1 comp(17 hours): 9.52M

Black Widow day 1 comp(7 hours): 9.66M

Solid start. Crazy AMC skew, but it's actually the exact same percent of total sold as Shang-Chi's day 1. The AMC+Regal skew is where the difference comes from. 96.3% of Dune vs 91.5% of Shang-Chi. Interested to see if the GA gets in on this after the fan rush, and whether presales drop a relatively high percent over the next couple days.

Maybe it's just me, but I've always had the impression that Cinemarks are more geared towards GA and AMCs bring in more fans and movie lovers.

Dune Megaplex

T-17 days Thursday: 682/10851 in 11 theaters

Shang-Chi comp: 15.67M

Black Widow comp: 4.92M

T-18 days Friday: 648/26747 in 13 theaters

Shang-Chi comp: 62.10M

Black Widow comp: 15.84M

Destroying Shang-Chi here, but it obviously won't be that high. Also, I went straight to the normal comp for Black Widow because I didn't start tracking it until almost a week into presales. So, those BW comps are with 10 days of presales.

I've been really curious about how Dune would perform here considering that the chain has had many top performing theaters for Star Wars opening weekends. So far, that Star Wars/space opera/sci-fi interest seems to have crossed to Dune.

Dune has nearly sold out IMAX and PLF showings near me but has lots of Thursday showings in big regular auditoriums that have sold a literal 0. Going to be one of the biggest splits ever. Don't love that for the weekend at large tbh but preview number will be swell for sure.

Their subscriber plans are also designed just this way...

If you're the occasional goer, you get a Cinemark subscription.

If you're every week or more, you get AMC/Regal subscriptions.

Regal seems to be matching AMC then. That makes things very interesting if it's just Cinemark that's underperforming.

IMAX is making all the difference. 29 sold at a Regal that does almost nothing until the last couple days. SC didn’t sell 28 there until T-5 days

No Time to Die:

Weds Early Access IMAX: 43/372 (+8)

4:00 IMAX: 8/372 (+4)

5:00 Dolby: 30/236 (+8)

7:00: 6/107 (+1)

8:00 IMAX: 17/372 (-)

9:00 Dolby: 44/236 (+13)

Total: 148/1,695 (+34) (105/1,323 without Early Access)

Comps:

43% of Black Widow the day before (5.7M)

65% of Shang-Chi three days out (5.7M)

115% of F9 three days out (8.1M)

157% of Venom 2 four days out (17.7M)

183% of The Suicide Squad two days out (7.5M)

203% of AQP2 two days out (9.7M)

617% of Old two days out (9.3M)

617% of Snake Eyes two days out (8.6M)

It's now outpacing F9 by a healthy margin, and the standard showing hasn't even picked up the pace yet compared to F9's standard shows. Willing to bump the floor up to 7.5M, and given some of the other comps, I'm not ruling out 11-12M yet.

Dune:

6:00 IMAX: 5/372

7:00 Dolby: 46/236

7:45: 0/107

8:45 3D: 0/67

9:30 IMAX: 3/372

Total: 54/1,154

Already outpacing NTTD's second (or third?) day sales on its first day :Venom:

It was like a 5-minute fix on my end :)

No Time to Die MTC2

Wed+Thurs:

Showtimes: 2035

Seats Sold: 24140/530585

Total $ sales: at least 348787*

TSS comp: 9.43 million

F9 comp: 5.33 million

Friday:

Showtimes: 3166

Seats Sold: 25853/511789

Total $ sales: at least 333155*

F9 comp: 17 million

No Time to Die MTC2

Wed+Thurs:

Showtimes: 2074 (+39)

Seats Sold: 27139/334844 (+2999)

Total $ sales: 391690 (+42903)*

TSS comp: 9.10 million

F9 comp: 5.31 million

Around 23-23.5 hours of data compared to 21.5 for F9, but the comp still dropped. I think at this point this just won't do that well at MTC2. Will need other chains and regions to carry it.

Friday:

Showtimes: 3177 (+11)

Seats Sold: 30800/510141 (+4947)

Total $ sales: 394474 (+61319)*

F9 comp: 17.30 million

It managed to increase the comp here but that had a lot to do with the missing time amount for F9. Pace ratio was probably stable at around 75% of F9 pace.

*same caveat on $ sales as yesterday, I didn't have time to fix

I know some are saying this will be backloaded and that it's set for crazy walk-ups...but I would expect a backloaded run to see at least some sort of rev-up in the last few days, not the film finally losing a lot of momentum. It's a little bit concerning to me guys.

This is what I was looking for. The goal is to match F9 by the end of its run, which isn't super likely, but still possible.
