SMH had summer weekdays tho. Even though it dropped 62% in it's 2nd weekend. It had done 46M business from Monday-Thursday after 117M weekend. Whereas DP2 did 39M biz. on weekdays after 125M weekend. SMH continued to have strong weekdays for more than 1 month, DP2 would have to rebound on weekends to have good multiplier considering the time of the year.

It dropped 62% the second weekend, but it recovered after that

That 66% drop for DP2 does put a damper on the 300M prospect. Still think weekdays will give it some recovery, but it looks like the movie is performing much closer to typical X-Men films than most expected.

Homecoming fell 62% in the second weekend.  The third fell 50%.  And we all piled on it, myself included.  

 

I don't know why dP2 had such a shitty hold, it's not because people aren't enjoying it.  But a 65% drop is bad no matter how you look at it.  But it has time to recover.  And it will more than likely imo, hit or come close to 300 and the international numbers are doing well and the budget is low.  DP2 is doing fine and if it does decline by 20% domestically, that's not unheard for a sequel.

53.5 4-day puts dp2 at 82 (1.53*53.5) away from 300.

potc5 did 78.5 4-day and added 1.2*78.5 (94) to it's run. that 78.5 was an ow with previews at that.

after burning a week's worth of demand (unlike potc5's 4-day) 1.53x for 300 is feasible for dp2.

smh all over again. not that this one will do 330+ but anything from 300-320 won't surprise me.
