And the one million likes on Twitter is from people who...what, clicked by accident?

Wait who's denying people like the trailer?  Stop stawmanning. A little reading comprehension goes a long way. I'm sure many people liked the trailer, it's my 2nd favourite trailer I've seen today.

So, if Spidey opens Dec 17, and I think it does, the big movies who thought opening Xmas in its wake might want a little rethink...

The Kings Man, The Matrix (HBO Max release, so that probably needs less room), Sing 2 (that can stick as the kid movie), A Journal for Jordan, and the Nightingale are all wide releases for Dec 22/23.  And that doesn't count West Side Story and American Underdog on Dec 10 (nor the 3 wide dumps on Dec 3).

Spidey is gonna get 1/2 the screens of 12s and below for OW, and won't be giving up many for the Dec 24 weekend, so every new open is gonna look at 2 screens or less max.  Now, that said, Xmas-New Years will be an amazing box office period compared to the rest of fall...but if you don't make it by New Years, you're not looking at much more in early Jan.  I would think 1-2 of those wide openers want to go into 2022, unless studios are just eating costs still b/c they have too much material and not enough spots to release it...

Someone said Nov/Dec are packed, and they are for what the market can support right now...not sure we'll get better before Spidey with Fauci saying spring 2022 for full viral control before backtracking...

I don't see any reference to Sony officially giving these numbers, so I won't pay much attention to 355M precisely but it was certainly a record with 300M+ possible.
