Next year with Spider-Man’s 60th birthday they will get loads of marketing for free. Hence why this is going to next May.

Nobody cares frankly. Moving the rare chance they got for XMAS release to May will be dumb af.

Its 4 months away still, CoVID whatever variant will be done by then. Besides vaccination will reach quite high anyways.

Will the trailer actually have Tobey and Andrew? Sony isn't above spoilers and the anticipation for the trailer has been so strong

I would be surprised if they’re not. What’s the benefit of hiding them? There’s an obvious hype factor to normies from “oh another Spidey movie!” To “WHOA!”

I agree and hope. That Spidey tease on Civil War always played like gangbusters. The mainstream still has no idea the Spiderverse will be a central plot point. Even a brief mention will break the internet and cement 1billion box office.

I wouldn’t rule it out quite so easily. If Fast 9 can make over $700 million despite mediocre reviews and a subdued performance in China (compared to the last few F&F’s), then a well received Spider-Man film featuring two past Spider-Man actors should be able to crush that.

Obviously I wouldn’t say it’s a guarantee as nobody knows what variant might rear its ugly head throughout winter, but at the moment, I’d say it’s got a decent chance at a billion.

I wish people would shut the fuck up about that. It's not like Spider-Mans never used tech in the comics, he drove around in a car that climbs fucking walls

The venn diagram of upset internet comic book movie fanboys and people that have actually read a comic book are two separate circles.

I saw Rob Liefeld having to explain that She-Hulk broke the fourth wall years before Deadpool existed the other day because the 'fans' thought the new She-Hulk show would be knocking off Deadpool.

If it was fully a Sony movie, they would have obviously shown Multiverse characters in the first teaser itself. But wasn't there some talk that Feige and Co. are involved in marketing for this one? Could be the reason behind all this secrecy.

Uh...there's been no teaser for this film...with actual footage, that is.  Only a marketing piece or two with the established cast.

The secrecy is obvious.  If it wasn't something big, we would have heard much more by now.  Ergo...

But yes, hopefully Feige is helping to curb SONY's tendencies, at least with this particular film.

HAHAHAHAH no. The Fantastic Four just had their 80th and it didn't mean shit. They aren't going to push 3 movies back in the slate for Spidey to not get a 60th anniversary
