OMG. That was not good. Let's act as if it never happened . PR is too awesome a concept not to root for.

 

Folks shouldn't take Chinese audience for granted. They are not just going to flock to theaters because of symbolism. Zootopia beat KFP3 by a huge margin. F&F beat TFs easily despite TFs trying to cater more to China. India's Dangal came out of the blue and became a blockbuster, but Baahubali flopped there even though was an action/adventure and seemed more generic. Looking at a smaller breakout, was recently surprised to see that Dawn of Apes did an amazing 105+ there in 2014, even though it didn't have desperate symbolism to endear to China. I think folks in China are getting more and more wiser and aware about these things.

yeah that's been one of my complaints about this movie, other than the fact it didn't need to be made

 

the robots look so much worse.  They're cartoony looking even.

 

as for the teaser, it seems like it wants to almost be Starship troopers but they aren't in on the fact that ST was a spoof and satire
