Quote

Bay’s writers, meanwhile, tell us how they quickly realised that pretty much anything they asked for, they’d get. They had written an English castle-dweller called Sir Edmund Burton, who holds secrets of Transformers lore. “We said, ‘He’s an Anthony Hopkins-type character,’” says co-writer Ken Nolan. “And two days later Michael’s like, ‘So, we’ve got Anthony Hopkins.’” Another new character is Cogman, a psychotic robot butler (“He constantly wants to kill people,” says co-writer Art Marcum) who has been excitedly described by Spielberg as “the greatest four-and-a-half-foot character since Yoda”. Co-writer Matt Holloway, a Downton Abbey fan, one day said as an aside, “It would be so funny if Jim Carter voiced this character.” A short while later, Bay announced, “Jim Carter — we got him.” “It’s good to be Bay,” says Nolan. “Everybody says yes.”

This is so beautiful, you were the best student of your english class, you studied literature, Shakespeare and all the great writers of the world, you think Woody Allen and Quentin Tarantino are geniuses minds, you re highly creative, smart and fast, your dream is to be the new Aaron Sorkin and

You re hired by Paramount to write Transformers movies.

It s so poetic, it rhymes.

I still like this franchise even though it's been on the decline. Guilty pleasure of mine

IMHO from the trailer they are taking themselves too damn seriously. They have bought into the "darker is better" idea, and for a series that ,at it's end, it about automobils that transform themselves into giant robots, going dark is NOT a good idea.

The first film was good, silly, fun because Bay got that you need to embrace the silliness, not avoid it. He seems to have forgotten that.

With some franchises both a silly and a darker interpretation can work...."Batman" is an example. I don't think the Transformers is one of those.

I doubt it will be dark at all. Dark Side of the Moon was also sold as a "darker Transformers", and it still ended being so silly as the previous one. Paramount is just trying to make it looks different than the previous ones since the fatigue is inevitable.

It sure as hell looks darker then the  previous films.

ANyway Bay is changins the Transformers to the point where they are not really the Transformers anymore.

Bay blows things up real good, but that is extent of his filmmaking skills.

As far being a good filmmaker goes, Bay is king of two things....Jack and Shit, and Jack just left town.

Not a fan of the TF franchise but always loved the trailers. TF trailers and promos have been superior to most, but can't say the same for Last Knight.

Was thinking that maybe this time things will be opposite and I might like the film instead ;).

Should do well WW no doubt. IMO,

185 Dom + 315 Ch + 350-400 OS-Ch = 850-900 WW
