That's an interesting point. Hadn't thought about it that way, that she wants to give birth to a child that is destined to die a few years later. That's selfish and inhumane.


 

 

I respect the criticisms about her doing it without letting Renner know, but I think this is the wrong way to look at her decision. If she decides not to have the child at all, her daughter essentially dies right there and doesn't get the 16-17 years of life she would've had.  That sounds a hell of a lot more selfish to me.

The movie asks you to stop thinking with past, present and future, cause, consequence that s not how the aliens and Amy s character experience things at all.

 

Amy s character does not see the future at all.

Maybe, but after watching the movie, that first title works perfectly.
