A QUIET PLACE | 04.06.18 | Paramount | supernatural horror film

I don't know if I wasn't paying attention but when I saw the first teaser or trailer for this film, I thought it was a stalker type of horror film. This current (second?) trailer clearly suggests this is a much more interesting sci fi horror film along the lines of Alien or Pitch Black. That PG-13 rating has diminished my hopes, though, as it seems like it is more like Signs than either of those two superior films.

PG-13 rating isn’t bad for it. Definitely could be like The Ring where it has some “R-rated” moments. But this film can be a decent sized hit, with marketing, and word of mouth should bring it awareness to a possible blockbuster hit. $50 million ow?

Not quite sure why him being a producer is bad.  The movie clearly turned out well anyway, so why does it matter?

It doesn’t matter. I just find his involvement surprising given Platinum Dunes previous track record.

Had no idea this was Platinum Dunes, I love them.

I had no idea either.  My interest is definitely piqued now, where as it was not before.

I saw it last week. I really enjoyed the first act, but I cannot deny, it becomes a bit campy and predictable after that. Though calling it an "uninspired shitshow" is just an uninspired shitty move, trying to get attention.
