NYC Local Mon   Tues   Wed   Thur   Previews Preview Start
Jumanji 2 72/1864 (4pm) 120/3381 (5:30pm) 141/3381 (5:30pm) 178/3381 (4pm)   4:00 PM
Black Christmas 22/512 (4pm) 24/512 (5:30pm) 24/512 (5:30pm) 24/512 (4pm)   7:00 PM

COMP THUR:

TLK:  $7.35m

Joker:  $3.115m

Frozen 2: $4.97m

Godzilla 2:  $5.497m

Mal 2: $4.265m

Zombieland 2: $5.34m

TLK and Joker are the outliers in terms of walk ups

Others range in genre but are all sequels. None are ideal comps but from this theatre it looks like $4.3m - 5m+ in previews

Does this mean that Black Christmas didn’t  sell a single ticket in the last few days?

Big bumps today partially due to some comps no longer being adjusted. It'll be interesting to see where this ends up tomorrow, but don't be surprised if I boot half of these comps.

Not as much of a boost that I had hoped for, but it's still early. Walkups will probably be huge. I removed comps that didn't seem to have great walkups, and added some mostly for the showtime start comp. I'll go with 3.75M. I'm thinking this will have better walkups than most of these because it should have a good amount of teens/young adults for the later showings.

Yes.  Checked at 6:30pm and it's sold 7 more across two shows with the first show starting at 7:15pm.

Dr Sleep (5pm at a 6pm start - 53/512 -  $1.5m previews --- > .87m previews

Zombieland 2 (6pm for a 7pm start): 95/1478 - $2.85m pre --> .93 previews

Avg of these two comps - 900k

11AM at just MTC1 Jumanji has sold another 8500 tickets for previews. its at 36616/407256 and could cross 60K+. MTC2 is at  23922/467257 and should cross 40K.  With great Walk-ins even 5m previews can happen. Let us see how things are this evening.

I just reran for MTC1 its up to 53523 at 4PM. I can see it hitting as high as 75K by shows end with huge walk ins. Nothing surprising as we have been expecting Jumanji audience to be driven by walk-ins. 5m previews.

I honestly can't tell if you're serious or trolling at this point. Most people aren't aware of this movie, it's not going to have a bunch of unforeseen walk ups. The comps for other horror movies from this year aren't going to fall apart. You're looking at $10-13m opening weekend and a final total below $40m.

How come Jum3 preview expectations went from 2.5m to 5m within a matter of days. Any reason why folks would delay buying tickets or is it usual for such movements to happen?

Normal for a walkup heavy film kinda like Jurassic World, where the amount of folks who like the franchise far outnumbers the hardcore fanbase.

Why, you haven't been reading my posts, have you:)...

The Atom promos this week were hugely well known and publicized (for over a week)...but you had to wait til Tuesday and really Wednesday to get the double deal.  Ticket buyers are becoming much savvier about waiting to buy for a promo, especially if they are prebuying for a future date...

EDIT: But, yes, it's type of movie also helped:)...

Is the $7 off Chase Pay one for the whole weekend too?
We don't have Chase in Canada, too bad!

I never thought it will make just 2.5m. Those are people tracking 1 city/few theaters and extrapolating numbers which could sometimes work but other times could be way off. This was always expected to have great finish to its PS(I had said that last week). its bcos of its core audience(Latinos/minorities) who are not the most PS heavy audience.
