Really depends on what you're looking for, but usually the most important takeaway for just a casual glance is the comp.  More on that in a bit.   But even that is highly dependent on a movie being either in a similar genre or having a similar pre-sale pattern as folks will buy tickets at different times during a pre-sale window thanks to a very long list of factors.   Add in that movies will have different promotional schedules during their pre-sales (review embargoes, TV ca

Day 1 seem to continue to dominate the PS with it being OD and Valentine day. I could see 3m previews and 15m true friday. 

That would pretty much wrap up 60M for the 4-day. Damn, I guess the trend this year is open over a 4-day weekend if you want to exceed expectations.

So toronto sonic numbers may have to wait till friday. Not much happening with preview thursday ( reg seating with no reserve count) and fridays im seeing theatres witone screen and nothing in presales zeroes pretty much.

 

Toronto might not be a big place for sonic. Have to see how it goes. 😕

It's too late today for good comparisons but judging from a short look into several theaters The Photograph and Fantasy Island are doing quite fine for a Tuesday (especially The Photograph).

Okay, it's official - the BoP open, combined with the strength of 3/4/5 movies last week, did BoP no favors.  My 1st local set, and BoP drops from 2.5 screens to 1 screen (although at least it kept a biggest size).  And 2/3/4/5, BB3, 1917, Dolittle, and Jumanji all stay, even with all the new openers and Sonic getting 2 screens (Jumanji does drop a showing, but everything else keeps a full screen for what will be a great weekend if you get showings:)...  

 

My 2nd local also set, dropping BoP from 3 screens to 2 screens, but no longer keeping the biggest screens.  2/3/4 keep their full screens, but Jumanji does finally end its run here, b/c this site decided to book Parasite for 2 showings (and kept Just Mercy for 2 showings - probably figured to keep the audience draws spread out).  It also doubled screened Sonic.

Looks like that Tuesday T-Mobile $4 ticket deal is indeed helping out. 
Anyone who knows the deal, is it only today that it can be claimed and used, or can you claim it today and buy the tickets later?

What keyzore said...you can buy til 2/17, so I'm sitting on mine...although my son has now come through and asked if he saw it, would it count for his birthday movie (which is next month)...he might break me down by Valentine's Day:)...

 

But yes, the $4 sale kick has probably gotten parents even more motivated, since it's the 1st discounted movie for them in a LONG time (since Dolittle had ZERO discounts)...and their kids are probably itching for anything...

Yes, but I have 3 other kids...who are not $4:)...now, if they all say they are out...the 1 kid might win (although I admit my antipathy for the movie is still also winning - I mean, to me, this looks terrible...and I tend to enjoy more family movies than most:)...

 

But see, $4 got me thinking for a movie I had less than zero interest in...imagine what it's doing for true fence sitters:)...

Thinking 20m+ OD can happen at this point. Let us see how PS moves in next 2 days. MTC1 still will add tons of shows by tomorrow. That would mean huge boost tomorrow. 

This is actually nuts, that would be matching Pikachu in February, with a 4-day weekend no less. 

 

My theatres aren't showing similar numbers, but it's definitely a walk-up type movie.
