Waiting for Deadline to blow their wad early and give us a juicy $120M opening day estimate, only to decrease it to like $100M next morning and make everyone call this a flop :sparta:

That was my full Friday estimate...but now I need $100.31M so I can win me some likes (and I would totally buy an account, but I had a bathroom fail last month, and when you get 2 $22K estimates to fix and replace it...well, I'm not spending money on anything else all year that I didn't already buy:(...note to self - showers which fail through the tile and create tidal waves that also create a 4 ft hole in your entryway ceiling are awful to fix...I mean, it was $5K just to do a lousy fix for the shower and ceiling, so it's like, might as well replace the whole dang bathroom, since the leak also ruined the bathroom floor and the drywall!)

PS - Good thing I had prebought my Avengers tickets!

PPS - Did I mention how much adulting sucks!  And how much more home remodeling does?! (This is our 1st ever project...and hopefully the last for awhile!)

Also just curious, when y'all are on the forums, are you usually on a laptop or phone? I rarely use my laptop for anything but school, so forum-surfing is 99% on my phone

I tried on the phone and gave up after like 2 minutes (the ads killed me). Im posting only from my PC :)

Mostly phone. I only get on through laptop if I have to do the summer game or something and have to do some research.

80% of the time I'm on my desktop, 10% my tablet, and 10% my phone

IDK if this is the thread for it, but I'm so impressed with MoviePass's dickish-ness that I'm laughing. They implemented a "no rewatch" rule today super quietly into their TOS. Like there's no announcement for it on any social media or anything. I wonder why they chose this weekend to add that rule...

Well, with 3M users, that's gonna be a leg effect...not huge, but gonna be noticable...

When I was 18 right before college a bunch of cops made me and my friends (all people of color) get out of the car and get up against the hood as they searched my car. They pull out a gun from under my seat and start telling all of us we're going to jail and they're arresting us. Pointing their guns at us and shit. All of a sudden the cop puts the gun back on his belt and says "we were just fucking with you" and they all get in their cars and drive off. That's par for the course man. And I'm a white boy with Democratic stickers on my car, people of color have this every month here not every year or two like me.

Okay, THAT'LL get the wtf reaction, even as jaded as I might be at times.

Seriously, my sympathies for what they're worth. :(

EDIT::::

Saw @Trolltastic Tele comment.  Not saying anymore. :)

Work it's desktop. Home it's my phone. Mostly because I forgot my password and those are pretty much set up to just remember my password already.

It s still baffling to me people in here are still comparing multipliers between 50, 100, 150, 200, 250m openers and afterwards make conclusions about legs.

It doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

Are people still really doing that too ?

People use the term good/great for 3.0-3.3x type multiplier for the big opener like Dark Knight and would never for small movies.

On this message board people tend to take into account genre, sequel or not, size of the OW, release date into account when comparing multipliers.

As far as beating the OW record, there is last one candidate.

Lion King which the last Giant IP from the past that can create humongous hype for today s audiences.

But I wouldn't count on it since family films don't usdually create huge rush factor.

The final number could be gigantic tho, equaling Black Panther.

needs to approach 110 od to get it in tfa territory

39

70 (109 od)

77 (+10%)

62 (-19.5%)

= 248

39+67+76+66=248

I think it'll be more evenly spread to get that high, less on Friday and more on Sunday.  Everyone is still in school so morning shows today aren't anything special while Sunday evening can still draw decent crowds.  That's a big Saturday bump though, seems very unlikely.
