Firstly I have to say that making above >0.5A is a massive achievement that any film that passes the gargantuan milestone should be proud of.

After A2 is released 0.5A will still mean $1.39b dollars but 0.5A2 will mean around $2b dollars.

this is suggesting numbers like  3.2b overseas, 800 million domestic.

It’s a worldwide phenomenon. It’s the aftermath of the downfall of capitalism in Europe , for example. Extreme right wing, neo-nazi parties are.....having a party in Europe. Austria’s government is basically neonazis, in France everybody had to unite behind a servant of the banks like macron to prevent Lepen from becoming the president, in Italy we basically have a non-military coup to prevent the extremists the people actually voted for (70%) to form a government, in my country we have an almost openly neo nazi party gaining around 10% e.t.c.

Oh and Charlie Sheen’s meltdown was waaaaay less disturbing than Roseanne’s twitter.

It's the inevitable backlash to a rapidly changing world where populations are becoming more and more diverse, middle classes are either declining or remaining stagnant, and jobs are changing and/or being lost to automation and globalism (the more the world comes together, the better in my opinion, but yeah...people like their borders/walls/tribes). The last time this sort of technological renaissance happened we got two world wars and the Nazis.

i thought it was those russians behind it all

that makes more sense tho

guys c'mon you know the bit by know. tree is very stupid. literally the dumbest person who's posted here and that's an achievement. it's legit surprising he doesn't forget how breathing works or something. he'll always come here and say something like "bananas are supposed to be eaten with the skin on. peel them? i've never heard of someone doing that" and then people are gonna yell at him for 2 pages and he'll be like "whatever. peeling bananas seems pretty stupid to me"

i almost fell over

I guess since the 3 biggest characters in this movie are white(SoLow, Clarke, and Harrelson) he can't blame these numbers on sexist nerds, the alt-right, or MAGA douches, especially since it bombed everywhere not just in the US.

Did people blamed Last Jedi 1.332 billion biggest movie of the year on sexist nerds ? Half of the time by using so much sarcasm and shortcut I do not understand people point they are making at all.

POTC5 fell 6%, 19%, 56% on Sun, Mon, Tue respectively. 50-55% drop gives Solo 7.4-8.4 Tue

Even on the high end there's a chance that Solo 5-day is below BP's 2nd weekend.

haha I meant the numbers of pages in this thread!

Did match!

Where dio you get that kind of info? I asked in the thread about that in another wording.

Just to add a bit to the threads' theme (I think this one wasn't postd yet)

Memorial Day complete numbers (not only OW)

The first on not having an OW on that chart was Shrek 2, till #20 in complete 4 movies were placed higher than a few of the openers

Looking at the years-of release detail a ~ surprising high number isn't that actual, beside delivering higher numbers than some of the other holidays (e.g. MLK #20 is 27 Dresses with ~ $27m)

Not to excuse anything for any movie (or the opposite)

perhaps the social-political climate will be lighter come next weekend and will bring up movie attendance.  I think having two game 7s of NBA conference finals would have a positive effect on the overall box office.  Jurassic World went against game 6 and game 7 on JWs first Sunday and Tuesday.  JW seemed unaffected and Solo might have been unaffected too, or even done better.

It's the opposite. Sexist, racist, entitled nerds claimed that TLJ's $1.3B haul was so much lower than TFA's because Star Wars fandom rejected the movie's female lead and all of the POC in the cast. They've been posting that openly on many forums so I'm surprised you haven't seen it here, too.

I forgot that Last Stand opened bigger than Days Of Future Past :hahaha:

I think a lot of the time the following up film's OWs get the brunt of the frustration about a film (see a bit happening with MCU movies too, esp early  on)

Plus the 'new' team didn't earn as much in finals as the old ones (1:1) or in the sum (part 2 and 3 over cross, but I think that has to do with them all being in - maybe)
