3rd Friday PM update/writethru after midday Friday post: New Line/DC’s Shazam! is staying put in No. 1 with a second weekend of $23.4M(-56%) for a 10-day of $93.1M, however, as far as the weekend’s other franchise, Hellboy from Millennium/Lionsgate, hot isn’t the word to describe that pic’s business, now looking like a 3rd place opening of $12.3M.

I'm honestly shocked at Shazam!'s numbers. I thought for sure it was in for a really, really good 2nd weekend hold, especially with this weekend's new releases looking so weak.

Yeah, I was hoping the 25 million would stick. Maybe it will surprise us on Saturday like it did last week. 56% second weekend drop is about the same as CM in its second weekend. It’s a normal drop.

Internal multis look a bit off.  Most should have larger Saturday rises with schools in during the weekdays

Too normal. Was hoping the lack of big release plus the A cinemascore would help.

Hope Saturday can surprise... and have a 25m weekend.

Honestly ever since a relatively good opening weekend (compared to tracking), its weekdays numbers have been disappointing... hence so much anticipation for this weekends' good hold.

Some of you are unbelievable, predicting 21, 22 M numbers for Shazam ! yesterday. It looks to do more than that and it's now a bad drop?

 

For Dumbo, puzzling, it's having really strong WOM in many OS territories though, go figure, it's a good film, just very safe and Burton can't go full Burton.

Shazam falls 50%+, CM fell 56%...makes one think of the absurdity of BP 2nd weekend hold after a 200+ ow.
