I wondered when a company (who has no previous history with theatres) would creating content and then using theatres as a way to specifically promote their streaming service. I do see the angle, every now and again I'll see something about a particular streaming series and will go "oh that's on Apple? I didn't know that." and then remind myself that Apple does have its own content lol.-so getting that out there with the "Ill catch it on Disney/Netflix/Amazon" visibility wise would be a good thing.

I know jumping on 100M OW seems absurd but if it ended up with 11M previews i really think it would be surprising to miss 100M , considering presales are so well spread through the weekend and it´s a very lenghty movie

3/26 early screenings look pretty filled up in the theaters around me. Looks like a similar Theater Count to the 3/19 early screenings.

It's also 3pm previews and even with a longer R-rated movie, that is still a lot of demand being burnt off.

 

(also, let's wait and see just how likely 11m in previews actually is, as Sacto isn't anywhere close to that)

Be careful with the Atom deal...80M $5 PLF codes can turn a lot of "walk up" into "prebuy"...especially for a non-family movie where singular ticket buys are more the norm, and thus, $5 codes for individuals could be an "insta-buy" vs walking up...

 

AKA - I wouldn't move off Shawn's weekend numbers until you see if walk ups really walk up...
