I'm thrilled for Lady Gaga. She's obviously a massive talent in music, but she seems like a genuinely kind person so I'm glad she's getting such strong reviews for her acting in this.

I quite recently listened to LG's discography for the first time. Some very intresting stuff but some very crazy too! Definetely not GA-friendly so no doubt she didn't quite last that much at a very large level.

The Fame wad probablybmy favourite, it was quite fun.

So it's an effective melodrama. Safe to say I'll never watch this, but fair play to Cooper - it could have been embarrassingly awful and it's apparently not.

 

ETA: now watch it do well at the Oscars only for everyone to hate it soon afterwards (hi La La Land!).

one of the better trailers this year. Gets people's attention when I watch it in theaters. Could see a $15+m Friday (rest depends on WOM) come Oct 5th

A Quiet Place would be my guess. It would be crazy if Paramount got 2 films in there considering... Paramount this time last year.

paramount last year was the first time in like twenty years a major studio got 0 oscar nominations for any of their movies.

Downsizing and Suburbicon seemed like good bets on paper, even if Mother! was always going to be more out there. Too bad those two turned out to be god awful.

Downsizing being bad surprised me, since Payne never had a film any worse than very good before that imo, but Downsizing ended up being the worst film I saw in all of 2017. Just awful

I'm a big fan of hers as a musical artist and I liked her on American Horror Story: Hotel.

I wonder if they’ll send her out to perform some of the songs for promotion.

Gaga looks not terrible in these clips. That nose video would have been way more effective before her nose job, though.
