I think Zack Snyder can definitely make a good monster movie. Actually i think he would excel in the genre. As much of a fan as i am of him, he tends to have limited conversations for his characters and who would speak less than godzilla and co.

Also, imagine the action scenes, as long as the slow motion is kept to minimal, his monster films would be something to behold.

Agreed. I like Zack not for his story but his ability to craft a beautiful, epic, almost opera like production which would work really well for Godzilla.

Now that this movie is successful and a Godzilla sequel is now back on table, I just don't know what they can do next. It seems like they've kind of peaked with all of their iconic characters throughout Godzilla history.

Destroyah, Bollante, Spacegodzilla, Angrius, Zilla, Batra, there's a number of monsters left.

Could also try and get a crossover with Gamera

So if, IF, domestic box office follows suit and does very well (and it certainly is in Sacto... so far), who here thinks that Deadline Hollywood will have the self-control to NOT mention some variation of the phrase "Easter Weekend box office resurrection"?

Any takers against Deadline not doing that?  Anyone at all?

7.5 on IMDb already, pretty weak for genre, seems reaction is as muted as the last few

Tell that to Snyder fans. People are actually enjoying this movie. I hate the fact that they want to hijack every media possible.

GvK ia receiving good response in India.

Yeah but the four most iconic are arguably Ghidora, Mothra, Rodan and MechaGodzilla, so it kind of feels like they’ve peaked

I don't know, i didn't see the movie.

But there's no excuse to attack any movie because the studio decisions are not what they wanted.

And i think GvK have 9.0 or something on Maoyan, so it seems to be well received where it was released.

Maoyan basically give everything 9.0 and above, it is a worthless system

Yea this is just bloggers and checkmarks trying to force a narrative to attack Snyder fans

How much it actually affects the rating has no bearing on whether or not it's actually happening lol.

Highly doubt that the minuscule Snyder Patrol is swinging the IMDB score that much.

Except it did swing score that much. 7.5 is an weight average vote, if you have almost 300 1/10 votes, it brings the average down considerable because every grade have equal weight, even those who are trolling or attacking it.

If you use arithmetic mean which is more fair, it has 8.3/10 average, which seems way more in line with the actual reception.

What about obsession with Rotten Tomatoes ratings? It's a lot worse to me.

Whether any of these things matter isn't a debate worth having, but I'm very curious why an interest in a Rottentomatoes rating is "a lot worse" than an IMDb one. The critic score on the former is substantially more credible, and actually interesting to follow.
