Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.  He is the main draw but without the others, there is no Avengers movies.

Without him, there is no Avengers either.

I know he got 20M upfront for Civil War. My guess is that he got 40-50M upfront for Avengers 3 + Avengers 4. The rest came from his backend deal.

I remember him saying he got in total 70M for the first Avengers.

But there was people white knighting for the dude. It isn't bull. Like, maybe he makes 10 million instead of 100 million. Whoope doo! Who cares? That's still alot of money. Why go to the mat defending him over 90 million bucks? That's what debunking the article so vehemently means. I only even said that because people misrepresented my original post. But good on him for donating to charity and getting his cast raises, seriously.

I never once possibly said this. He was just an example of a larger problem.

I don't think it's ridiculous. I complain about rich people making that much money all the time. Always. In many topics. I didn't like single out RDJ. Anyone who has read my 16,000 posts of insane lefty posts knows this. RDJ is just one example of a much larger problem, like I said

Debunking the article is based on the facts being wrong about the budget and the salary.  That's it.  But we now live in a fact adverse society so maybe one shouldn't bother.

RDJ isn't a problem, what he does is not a problem.

Even very conservatively, AIW's theatrical revenue approx is looking at:

590 * 0.55 = 324.5 dom

290 * 0.25 = 72.5 china

790 * 0.33 = 261 os-china

= 658 (with 1670 ww)

1800-1900 ww with these ratios gives 710-750

The issue people can make as much money they want just tax them at a reasonable level.

I always find it funny people talk about the virtues of a more global world then sort of belief in ideas that won't work in a global world such as insanely high corporate taxes.

because they can. I wish I had that much money. But that does not make me wish they were not able to make that much. Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Warren Buffet, Jeff Bezos, even Zuckerberg were not rich prior to making some major contribution to society. Now they are insanely rich on a scale incomparable to RDJ.

This is good for everyone. That money has so go somewhere. Its not like it sits idle under a bed. If it is in a bank it becomes cash available for banks to loan money for normies like us to get a house. They invest it, well that allows companies to expand and hire more and pay better, helps us. They spend it on mega mansions and random luxuries... guess what, they are pumping that money right back into the economy which benefits anyone who works for the companies who makes the products they buy.

Jeff Bezos has a home in Medina, Washington with 59 bathrooms. I know kids in high school who went to bed hungry most nights and hadn't even seen a dentist in their life. Please give me one reason outside of "they can" why someone should have so much uneeded luxury, like 59 bathrooms, when so many people are working hard and still making jack squat. Yes, they can, but that doesn't mean they should - I can cheat on my significant other, or run out on my kid, or act like an asshole, but I don't! Because it isn't right. Yes, I know it's "moral bullshit," but morals matter to me. And RDJ is way, way, way less guilty than many others. But I ain't gonna weep for him getting one misleading article about how many millions he makes written about him.

Anyway, I can't believe I'm saying this, but can we please, please get back to talking about Infinity Stones or something? I didn't mean for this to happen when I made one comment.

btw I think @ZattMurdock is right on Ant-Man and the Wasp hitting 300M. The Infinity War (and BP) boost will be real. Same deal with Captain Marvel

this reminds me of people saying Thor 2 would make $300 million because of the avengers. and thor was actually in the avengers.

I mean, sure, debunk it! Haven't these rumors been around since Iron Man 3? It might not have happened for these movies, but I kinda think at some point there was reason to believe it's true. So I guess that's part of my thinking too - I don't NOT believe the article. So I don't care that much to debunk it?

He's not a problem!  In that the individual is not a problem, but just like every cop isn't a killer or "the problem", they're all buying into a system that IS a problem.

Dude, you're really missing the point. Disney should not make the money they make either. All that money should be redistributed back into society.

Enough politics, this is off track. I just don't like the argument "oh, he only made 10 million instead of 100 million, that's okay"

Except that this kind of socialist thinking has killed HUNDREDS Of MILLIONS over the last century and destroyed many nations, including my home country.

This is really disgusting but I understand is coming from a place of ignorance, I strongly advise you to educate yourself and stop falling for the communist propaganda.

But Thor 2 is considered one of the worst MCU movies. If Ant-Man is atleast as good as the first one, we can predict close 300M Domestic

To be fair, The Dark World was lame as shit. If Ant-Man 2 is of quality with their later films, I see no reason why it can't jump to $250M like Captain America did.

Yea I think Coolio is kinda right. There's a precedent for how much the sequels jump after an Avengers movie, and the math doesn't add up to Ant-Man being that huge - unless there is just some huge groundswell of undercover Ant-Man fans waiting to be tapped in to.

Big difference between 250 and 300, also. I can def see 250 (I'm at about 240 right now). 300 is a big, big jump
