Wonder Woman?????????? That was neither pre-sale heavy nor front loaded. It was just on par. Plus expectations around Birds of Prey is no where close.

WW was pretty much an anomaly for women targeted audience films and DC movies.

I think the audiences was a bit burned out by previous DC movies - many took a a wait and see approach and the film also appealed strongly to older women.  I'm not seeing the same age demos for this and this is coming off Joker, Shazam and Aquaman not BvS and SS.  Unless SS is tainting this and many are waiting for reviews and WOM  I expect the preview ratio to be closer to 7 than 9.

I am with you. I made that comment bcos he made a blanked statement that this must be this or that. We never know. Buzz around this is not that high and so there is potential for not so frontloaded run. But it all depends on where the reviews land. if that is mixed or negative then its all downhill.

SS is going to have a larger effect on this film than Joker, Shazam, and Aquaman. It's no different to how Wonder Woman didn't affect JL and Aquaman didn't affect Shazam. I don't think it's going to be as frontloaded as Joker and come close to a 7 (espescially with previews starting later).

I was talking about that because generally speaking female fronted movies are more likely to be pre-sales heavy.

Joker wasn't as front loaded as BvS or SS and was in line with AQM and JL.    Shazam was 9.06x (even though it was from 4pm instead of 6pm) but that's a film that skewed younger and more family than the usual DC or CBM

I guess you're right there. I just think there's more room for buzz over here, espescially if it gets good reviews.

Er... wtf, they're expecting this to open like Dumbo?

I think Mulan will clear 100m+ opening weekend.
