This Week's Fandango Sales (09 April 2018 - 15 April 2018)

This Weekend's Movies (estimated 10m+ weekends)

Rampage: 50841 total sales. 40248 standard tickets (%79 of sales), 7140 3D tickets (%14 of sales), 3451 Imax 2D tickets (%7 of sales) and 2 Imax 3D tickets.

A Quiet Place: 126,435 total sales.

Truth or Dare: 27184 total sales.

Ready Player One: 39385 total sales. Didn't feel like counting each category (2D, 3D, Imax, etc) for RPO at this point. Counting total sales isn't all that time consuming actually but counting each category totally is.

Blockers: 33249 total sales.

Upcoming Releases

Avengers Infinity War: 69218 total sales. 46027 standard tickets (%66 of sales), 10797 3D tickets (%15.5 of sales), 7175 Imax 2D tickets (%10 of sales), 4791 Imax 3D tickets (%7 of sales), 426 opening night fan event tickets (less than %1 of sales), 2 marathon tickets.

Super Troopers 2:  3767 total sales. Plenty of double feature tickets, but didn't feel like separately counting them at this point.

I Feel Pretty: 683 total sales.

Deadpool 2: 181 total sales.

The first Super Troopers is hilarious so it’s nice to see interest picking up for the sequel. I nearly wet myself during the bear fucking scene from the original. That scene rivals the hair gel scene from There’s Something About Mary as one of the best R rated humor scenes ever. I saw the original on opening day in a theater that was maybe 20% full but you would have thought it was sold out based on the laughter during several scenes.

I don’t think Blockers or I Feel Pretty will impact its OW at all. The film has built up its own cult audience and they will turn out if they think the film is a worthy follow-up to the sequel. The film certainly is making the most of the gimmicky release date.

Fandango Pulse:

1) Avengers Infinity War: 659
2) A Quiet Place: 583
3) Rampage: 291
4) Blockers: 155
5) Ready Player One: 130

It can be a bit misleading to not add every type of ticket (2d, 3d, imax, fan previews...) when compared to a movie like a quiet place that has 100% of is sales in one.

To do it rapidly and automatically in excel, text to column, the function LEFT() and data consolation fonction can do it easily.

BP is going to probably benefit from drive in double bills since it's w/e total will be low enough by then that it would make a  difference. Unlike Jungle Book which was doing $20m+ the w/e CW opened but like Cinderella with AOU

    Cinderella (2015) BV $2,745,090 -0.7% 1,411 -608 $1,945 $194,038,460 $95 8

Hey, there, everyone...

I'm not here regularly, but I've seen some chatter regarding MovieTiclets.com tracking and Fandango Pulse tracking.

A couple of months ago, I created some hourly reports that track this info for a completely different purpose.
Maybe it will help you out as well.

Fandango Pulse Pipeline (resets on Mondays)

MovieTickets.com Top 5 (the MovieTickets.com website does not update overnight from about 8 PM CST - 6 AM CST)
