So if we even give this just a 2.2 regular-5-Day multiplier it gets a 570m total. So i believe that should easily happen.

I don't see Avatar ever going down to a 200M opener. It will be something that opens around 100M but then has a crazy hold 75-80M second weekend that will do it.

 

Now if such a film ever will exist is another thing entirely.

There's no way we could say anything is impossible. When Avatar came out, people were saying it was impossible to beat Titanic.

I mean what if this falls 40% on it's second weekend to 125m? It's happened before, but obviously not to a movie this large.

Finally, there are a lot of kids getting out of school this week that could actually inflate days that should have normal drops. I'm thinking we could see an epic Wed drop that could even be sub 10%. I'm going crazy and calling for 22-22.5m

I see Warner Bros are going ahead with MEG. Finally! Looks like they're in talks with Eli Roth to do it. Interesting.

 

Gonna be interesting to see how Eli Roth handles a PG-13 tentpole. Hopefully it's suitably insane.
