I think 5m previews is the target. Friday PS is chugging along. As I mentioned earlier. its thursday walkups are the key.

Dune Nationwide T-2 Days

THU - $2.4M

FRI - $3M

SAT & Rest - $2.75M Approx

Total - $8.25M Approx

At same time THU is slightly behind NTTD. Thinking $4.75-5.25M THU previews. FRI sales are strong, I will wait for another day to judge possible multiple. Right now $35M is possible.

I had my tracking update ready, but BOT's system decided to wipe my autosave :ohmyzod: Dune has sold about 110 extra tickets since Saturday, but only 5 of those are for non-PLF showings. It's still skewed towards Dolby and IMAX despite tracking 70% of Black Widow. I'll do a fuller update tomorrow

I’m interested to know how other theaters are booking Dune in terms of number of showtimes and auditorium selection.

looking at Disney Springs, while Dune looks to have 4 screens worth of booking, it’s interesting to note that they only snagged two of the four prime auditoriums, the Dolby and one of the two 300 seaters, the other 300 and the huge 500+ both got taken by Ron’s Gone Wrong, and even with the Disney/Fox connection, that’s rather shocking.

they also shoved HK almost entirely into dine in theaters, aside from a lone evening show.

for the weekend, Dune is looking at only 14 showings a day, which seems kind of low even with a longer running time, DS has some space they could have cleared out, too, they still have two shows for Dear Evan Hansen, three for Jungle Cruise and one for Black Widow!

anyone seen indication that other theaters might be punishing Dune a little for WB’s sins?

I'm noticing it at a lot of other AMCs. The 20plex I track only has it on two screens aside from Dolby and IMAX, one of the largest and one average sized. 3/4 of the largest standard auditoriums are occupied by Halloween Kills

And it makes sense that HK got moved into dine-in screens at Disney Springs. They'll always try to prioritize those screens as they fill up a lot quicker than standard shows for the resort's demographics. Food sales will outweigh any additional capacity standard screens would provide for something like HK's second weekend

It's pretty much common knowledge that King Mickey naturally has the Disney Springs AMC wrapped around his fingers following his orders. That's why their movies play much longer there than most other multiplexes (that and the fact that there's arguably no better place to see a Disney movie than on Disney property).

Friday numbers from last night:

Eternals MTC2

Friday:

Showtimes: 3713

Seats Sold: 16165/620794 (+1285)

Total $ Sales: 216912 (+17238)

Strong reactions bump, though not quite as amazing as the bump for Thursday was.

Dune MTC2

Friday:

Showtimes: 3410 (+1207!)

Seats Sold: 29546/517814 (+5815)

Total $ Sales: 385641 (+73328)

Decent jump, well below Bond's jump though, but with this being non-discount-boosted, can catch up tomorrow. Still thinking 14 million Friday is possible.

5-14-17-11 = 47, I would call that a good opening for a Max release. Let's see where it lands.

Sat bump and Sun drop seem optimistic. I would be happy with 40m OW. This seems skewed to fanbase. I wish it had TMobile/Atom deal to pad up numbers :-)

Maybe Sunday is optimistic, but I don't think ~20% is particularly out of the norm for a fall opener Sat bump?
