Yeah but Beale Street and Destroyer won’t be opening here until sometime in January. Last year definitely had a stronger batch of choices.

Speaking of which, January looks pathetic even by its standards this year. Glass will have no problem cleaning up.

Yeah that's pretty much the only official 2019 release that month I'm somewhat looking forward to (I know I'll be spending basically the first half of the month binging all the Oscar bait films and crossover films from December).

I'm not a blame the refs kind of person but wtf was going on in that Philly/Dallas game yesterday?   They were bad for both sides.  That entire crew should be fired, or at the very least, fined heavily.

They actually made a call that after a fumble when 4 Eagles are on the ball, no Dallas guy in sight, that apparently there was no clear possession even though an Eagle ran around with the ball in his hand.  But even taking away the guy having the ball in his had, effectively what the refs and NY said was that even though there was a fumble and 4 guys  from one team jumped on it, not one of them wanted the ball so they apparently they stayed away like it was hot lava or something.  I still can't wrap my head around that one

I see people claim all the time that successful movies with a minority cast or a minority director are only successful for ‘PC reasons’.  SICK OF IT.

This argument happens whenever a black movie happens to have success that a white movie didn’t.

They claimed it about Moonlight and 12YAS.  Those weren’t even my favorite movies of the ones nominated that year, but how hard is it to acknowledge those movies won and did so well because people thought they were good?  They’re excellent artistic craft.

And now they’re claiming it again with Black Panther and it’s obnoxious.  The movie is good, it connected with audiences, and artistically it has connected with critics and the industry.

Stop delegitimizing the success of black artists by implying their success only happened because they were black.  That is so not true.  Their success happened despite they were black, because being a minority or a woman in the film industry is so much more of an uphill battle compared to being a white one.

And in all three of these cases, these complaints aren’t even legitimate.  Movie’s don’t succeed for being ‘PC’, just look at a Wrinkle in Time.  And at the core of all of this is pretty much white people getting upset that their preferred white movie doesn’t get the accolade that a black movie gets, when white movies get accolades all the fucking time.  Get over it.

Found a long searched for 'classic' combination tool / machine / ???  in the www and mentioned (~ post) it somewhere, was thinking for myself how to solve the transport, buy, where to get the needed spares according to the pics....,

Someone I do not even know drove ~ 200 miles, bought it with his money without informing me as he was afraid it will be too late and/or in a bad condition = to not give me hope just in case, will give it after some prep work (he has lots of spare parts) to me without wanting money for his work and the drive, wants only the asking price of the seller (was a good price) and maybe some for the spare parts (in the way like, if I want to). :worthy::mouthdropped::worthy::mouthdropped::worthy:  :mouthdropped:  (he too loves (and collects) classic machines, specialised for those I was searching for)

feeling like that:excited: (need to add a 380V power circuit in my workshop for it, but that's not a problem)

Did mods survived the snap ?

Yes.

@Telemachos escaped by quitting to be a mod. Though one must remember that hes older than the time stone so its power woundt have affected him.

@Christmas baumer was lucky, Jason got erased before he had the chance to kill our beloved fan of Moonlight.

@AndyLL welcomed Thanos' snap, cause all the Last Jedi-haters which had a heated discussion with him got erased.

@aabattery was lucky, cause he lives in New Zealand and Thanos, beeing a fan of the LOTR-sets there, spared the kiwis.

@grim22 convinced Thanos to concentrate mainly on Republican party members to erase and got lucky.

Officiating was terrible and I'd say it favored Dallas a decent bit.

That TD that got called back on OPI was one of the worst calls I've seen in recent memory (in a year full of terrible calls). If that hadn't happened, perhaps the Eagles could have had time to respond within regulation. Honestly I'm surprised Peterson didn't go for 2. The Eagles had been pretty miserable offensively for most of the game, should have just ended it there. Instead they never got the ball back

I didn't really have an issue with the not going for 2, only because of how much time was left in the game which was at least 1:39 I think, which is plenty of time for Dallas to have come down to kick a FG to win.  So really the 2 point conversion to go up one wouldn't have meant anything.  But if they missed the conversion, then the game was over regardless.

But I was a tad bit surprised myself.

and yes that OPI against Goedert was another one of the worst calls I have seen.  I don't know what drugs the refs were on but they need to be tested

I feel like ever since the new rules came into place the officiating has been terrible.

Penalties definitely helped the Eagles more than Dallas though just from the stats.  Eagles had 49 yards of penalties versus 111 for Dallas.

Well yeah, maybe it's because Dallas actually committed more penalties, such as three holding penalties on one of their linemen. When I say favor, I don't mean raw numbers, talking about the validity of the calls.

(Plus a couple make up calls that would have never happened if the Goedert TD stood)

Yes, the personal foul on the next play after the called back TD was the most obvious make up call I've seen...figure the refs had bet on the game, and couldn't make the calls so obvious (b/c the OPI call was so, so bad), so they took the traditional "make up call" route to cover it up:)...
