Saw my surgeon today and signed paperwork.  Found out it is 4-6 weeks off my foot.  I only took 4 weeks off.  Talked to my boss and he said to take care of myself and come back when I can.  I love my boss.  Two extra weeks will suck but I want to heal properly.  They are breaking several bones so I guess I understand the 6 weeks.  But doesn’t it take 8 weeks to heal a broken bone?

Surgery is Wednesday. Today I ordered my moby crutches.  It is pretty cool.  May have to use it for The Rolling Stones concert on Saturday night.  Depends how easy it is to take off and put on though.  Google Moby crutches to see what they are.  It’s pretty cool .

Sounds rough but I'm glad to hear you're coming along well!

Thanks!  Can’t wait for surgery to help me feel better.  6 days.  3 days to work.  2 days off then the magical day.  😀

So what exactly happened, anyway?  I must admit I've lost track after all the false diagnoses you've had to put up with.

Of the feet usually means off the feet for all that's longer than to do some bathroom runs, prepare/eat something and such during the first week in especial

Bone breaks:

depends a lot at what places and which one, also if muscles, tendons/sinews got damaged too. Ligaments get often rather underestimated too, it all depends.

I was allowed then to start to work reduced after 2 months and fully after 3 months. Fully means I was still not allowed to work over-time, still PTA.... for additional 3 months. But my break was at the ankles area, a lot of the ligaments snapped (as in more than usual).... and definite not done by a doctor. Same position (building construction site had a problem in a way) a post-women also broke her ankle, she needed way longer than me to loose the crutches and had way longer a special kind of ~ walking apparatus to use. Returned to work reduced after around 5 months, her break was at another position and a not clean break, chips....

Cuts,... too need care, no heat at all, oxygen onto the skin helps, no sun rays... I mean literally hospital grade / clean oxygen in a big gas bottle with a very small tube and extreme low pressure positioned in a way it blows very softly on your skin can help to speed up the healing.

To walk to a concert with many people (unplanned pushes...), too often hot temperatures, no real possibility to put your leg up high-ish.... could mean a week or a month longer recovery time, again depends. I'd speak in detail with someone who knows the specifics of your case before doing that.

Do not expect to be able to stand a full working day after 6 weeks on your feet (depends...), but if you can level up your leg in between often, use cooling aids,... work around, you can do a lot if needed

Fingers crossed for a speedy and hurt less as possible recovery

I was walking at work when suddenly I felt incredible pain and could no longer walk.   Official diagnosis from my surgeon is a bad sprain.  Oh and the sprain in my foot ‘activated’ a bunion that she labeled as severe and huge.  So the surgery is to fix the bunion with the breakage of 3-4 bones.  I am still horribly swollen from the sprain so between that and the bunion I am in severe pain.

Ouch, my extreme sympathies. :(

At least it isn't arthritis, like they originally thought!  Small blessing, I realize.

...

Guess @AndyLL is just gonna have to be the Pamper In Chief for the next couple of months. ;)

Big fuck off to that then.

The arrogance of man, good god. Someone slap some sense into them.

First off, no way they drop 20 episodes at once.  That'd be silly.

If they insist on the streaming model of putting things up at once, it's faaaaaaaar more likely that they'd drop 10 episodes (with a mid season cliffhanger??), wait a couple months, then drop the back half.  Sorta like Discovery did.

Secondly.  100 hours of Second Age goodness, potentially (5 seasons at 20 eps per)?  I don't know about you, but this is my reaction to that:

There is already a inflammation?

Swollen areas?

I'd in no way go to a concert, even if its the Stones.

Sounds strange to me to be honest, I hope she is a really good doctor.

Fingers crossed its not a bone chip or a blocked nerve or something like that - in addition to other injuries - that's causing the inflammation.

I add a few examples that might be involved too - out of what had happened to myself and a relative of mine:

Spoiler

My late mother-in-law once had for literally months inflammation problems with daily visits in a hospital (per doctors orders) bcs they didn't find a very small fingernail chip that ended within her injured finger.

We did cut it open after nearly 2 months on her instance and found it (very small cut, sounds extreme but it was not). Fingers diameter was at that time already altered for good to nearly the double. She did not die based on that, lived for ~ 20years after that.

Another doctor told her later she was in danger to get ~ added a sepsis and worse.

The only thing they did at the hospital was to reopen a bit and clean it with peroxide. Not a fun thing. Each and every day, including Sundays. No one used their brains and said huh... so long... there has to be something. She always told there is something in it, she could feel it a little bit.

Imagine a tip of a very fine needle as a size and form comparison, less than 1/4"

I myself nearly died based on mistakes doctor's ~ helpers did - twice

1x from beginning necrosis: the helper forced a movement that was not meant to be with that kind of angles for an x-ray - the then blocked nerve started to 'die' and such, at the time someone finally (days!) realised that I already had fever, the complete shoulder was very red, swollen and hot. Hurt like %$&§.

A specialist got the nerve to de-clamp (term?), without operation. Did hurt too, arm moved for ~ 15 minutes rather wildly - on its own. Felt very strange at first, many strange/wrong informations the arm send to my brain.

2 hours later I started to use it again.

1x a nurse pulled too early a drainage tube after an operation (without doctors order), I was nearly 6 weeks in a hospital for an appendix removal bcs of her mistake. Also lots of fever, swollen stomach... (was still a teen then, means long ago) = again it was something still inside, that should have been not, and too warm...

Both times the doctors screamed at their people. Loud and long.

edit to add: nearly forgot - that appendix operation was also twice, as they overdosed me with a trial anaesthesia thing (mother signed without reading), that never got a final approval

Not telling this to produce fear, its more about doctors seemingly sometimes too strongly belief into their x-rays, what in average means what, what helpers/nurses tell... and miss as such sometimes something, especially if its not that common.

In case your instinct tells your something, trust in yourself too, ask another doctor, whatever it takes.

@CJohn It finally happened: The Price Is Right beat Win Your Wish List on Thursday. 7.5% rating and 20.8% share against 6.9% and 18.9%. Guess it's safe to say that no one saw Win Your Wish List bombing coming, but that's the 2nd time this year that Cristina disappoints (and this time, outright flops) against the 7PM Gawd.

She has no one but herself to blame, though. Why the fuck did she choose this weak-ass format to host?

Also, Cláudio Ramos barely beat the Tour of Portugal in the mornings. Cristina's vacations have been a nightmare for SIC. The only thing keeping them afloat atm is the prime time.

The 7 PM Gawd cannot be stopped with a silly new game show. Especially one as weak as WYWL.

Meanwhile Goucha can't even come close to those lmao. He dead.

He was stopped by the dating shows, tho, which means romance is the 7PM Gawd's one and only weakness   At the same time, I also thought Cristina would be a weakness too, but I guess Raid The Cage caught on because it was good and not just because it had Cristina. Same would've happened with WYWL if it didn't suck. Well, at least SIC doesn't have to worry for too long, because Married is coming soon. And Hell, maybe WYWL gets bumped after Cristina returns to the mornings. Though that didn't happen with her 7PM specials to promote Golpe de Sorte, so I doubt it.

Goucha's result didn't even get advertised, so I imagine it couldn't even sniff 2nd place   MasterChef is going to be an ultra failure. Maria barely held YFSF to less than a handful of decent results against a fatigued Farmer, so imagine MasterChef now.

Looks like Sudfeld has a broken wrist on his non-throwing hand.  Guess the Eagles are in the market for a backup QB

The Eagles need a specialized coach to teach their QBs how to lessen hits and take falls...I swear, maybe a martial arts teacher...or a hollywood stuntperson...

I mean, they all seem to always be great QBs...but they can't seem to last more than a couple games without being removed...if it was just one guy or a really awful o-line, I'd understand, but it's not...1st Wentz, then Foles, now Sudfeld...
