Maybe 10 years ago, but the Youtubers will ensure it wont :P

If Solo really is a crowd pleaser, that could help. The huge amount of SW fans that are obviously passing on seeing it theatrically will probably see it at some point afterwards.

I just did a Fellowship of the Ring rewatch the other night (proof I am a bored loser) and it's amazing to me how much all the parts come together better than Infinity War or any of the teamup superhero movies ever, so maybe my judgement is just clouded idk. That's how you do an epic. I'm only making this comparison because I've seen multiple people compare Infinity War to the scale/structure of Lord of the Rings, so.

We get it you have posted about 10000 times about why you don’t like IW. The fact that you worship black panther AND the f&f franchise shows the agenda you have and what you seek first when watching films.

Jumanji and Black Panther are nowhere near as shocking as The Greatest Showman. Movies never go from bomb to megahit.

its box office run truly was The Greatest Show! it was Never Enough for that movie! it flopped at first but to see its run Come Alive was incredible! never in A Million Dreams could i have imagined it would be such a hit. From Now On i'll never underestimate circus musicals again!

the voiceless viewers might have to train to deflect the youtubers opinions

I know it may seem like a joke, but SW Youtubers do have a lot of influence on the fanbase.

99% of people didn't predict 700mil for Black Panther. As a matter of fact it had a bunch of loud detractors who thought that it would under perform because it had a majority black cast. Claiming that it was expected is revisionist history at it's finest. And yes Jumanji's run was shocking as well. I thought 150mil at best for that one.

You know people overseas are not familiar with african american culture. So when a movie centers the issues of those people it is difficult to connect with audiences in europe or asia.

For example, I didn't like Get Out but I think there was no way I could possibly understand fully it's theme and thus like it.

But with Black Panther it's just another Marvel action CGI fest so there is nothing to not appeal.

Yep you understood my post I think, exactly that, the main factor is not necessarily the skin color of the actor, but that very often when the cast is mainly black those story are either Tyler Perry style movie or about very american subject no well known around the world (The Help, Compton, Get Out, Hidden Figures), it is hard to separate the black actors are an hard sales to oversea audience from the very regional movie concept.

The only example that come to mind about black actor maybe hurting a movie oversea could be Creed, Rocky was a much more international than oversea franchise:

Rank Title (click to view) Studio Worldwide Domestic / % Overseas / % Year
1 Rocky IV UA $300.5 $127.9 42.6% $172.6 57.4% 1985
2 Creed WB (NL) $173.6 $109.8 63.2% $63.8 36.8% 2015
3 Rocky Balboa MGM $155.7 $70.3 45.1% $85.5 54.9% 2006
4 Rocky V UA $119.9 $40.9 34.1% $79.0 65.9% 1990

Domestic take

85: 42.6%

90: 40.9%

06: 45.1%

15: 63.2%

Then again, it could just be that starpower is much more important oversea than domestic now, making loosing Stallone in the main role a bigger impact oversea than in the US.

We do not have a large sample of cast mostly non-white of movies that are not about a very american subject.
