Hopefully this turns out awesome but that trailer did nothing for me personally.

Yeah they're hiding the real plot (which is confirmed to be real after the trailer).

 

It's not a rewash, more of a deconstruction and expansion (that's why VA said purists will probably hate it).

 

They did a great job with the trailer tho, nostalgia always sells, and it's working reception so far is great and numbers are huge (the best Warner have this year behind only GxK).

 

Sadly it won't reach it's full potential on box office but at this point i don't care anymore.

WB continue their 'take a beloved guitar song and add club music backing' approach (not unsuccessfully, I might add).

 

I'd say that was a pretty good trailer, and I'm surprised at how little it leans into nostalgia. I also think if this were only going into cinemas it probably wouldn't live up to BO expectations, so its duel streaming release isn't all bad.

Of course, we’ll see what happens with the full movie but at the moment I’m optimistic.

Yeah I’m gonna go in blind after this trailer. I’m really interested in seeing what they do here. In a time where nearly everybody already lives their lives through their phone screens, there’s plenty for a new Matrix movie to say.

 

Also, fuck you WB your streaming service can go fuck itself this could be a huge box office earner.

Some of the criticisms of the trailer that I’m reading online (not so much on here) tell me that there’s so many out there that actually didn’t understand the sequels, and the overall story. That’s a worry to me. 
 

I’m talking to people that genuinely think the battle was won at the end of Revolutions. Lol. 
 

nothing changed! They defeated the virus to save the matrix, but the system of control remained in place. 
 

how are people complaining about seeing familiar scenes in the teaser. Did they not see Reloaded and understand the twist? Fml.
