Well, I am still convinced that Tom Holland's Spider-Man will figure in the story. Somehow, someway. Why the hell would Kevin Feige just let Sony do a completely separate Spider-Man villain universe when he's already revitalizing Spidey after the ASM series debacle? Also, I doubt Tom fucking Hardy of all people would accept doing this movie if there wasn't something special behind it. Nah, I don't buy that there's no connection just yet.

While it would be nice to see this connected to the MCU, it would be better if it's a completely separate R-rated film.

 

The R-rating would work so good, especially if Carnage is the villain.

The idea is really baffling (it's like doing a Lex Luthor movie in a Supermanless universe)..... BUT, every actual element put into it (cast, tone/rating, and to a small extent director) seems promising enough.

 

But, deep, deep, DEEP down.... I still hope that this is related to the MCU.
