Well, if you look at all the Bonds since 2000, the obvious exception to the norm was Skyfall.  It was the only Bond to hit 300 domestic and a billion WW.  Maybe this one is going to fall more in line with the other Bond's in the last 20 years.  The average domestic gross was about 170 million.  And Bond does aim for an older demo and I don't think people my age have all decided to come back to the theatre yet.  Maybe this does 60 OW and 165 domestic, which would be in line with the other Bonds post 2000, not named Skyfall.

1 Skyfall $304,360,277 3,526 $88,364,714 3,505 Nov 9, 2012 Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE)
2 Spectre $200,074,609 3,929 $70,403,148 3,929 Nov 6, 2015 Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE)
3 Quantum of Solace $168,368,427 3,501 $67,528,882 3,451 Nov 14, 2008 Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE)
4 Casino Royale $167,445,960 3,443 $40,833,156 3,434 Nov 17, 2006 Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE)
5 Die Another Day $160,942,139 3,377 $47,072,040 3,314 Nov 22, 2002 Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM)

Skyfall was a unique situation because it benefited enormously from all the publicity and attention the 50th anniversary of the Bond film franchise got.

No Time To Die will do just fine in the US Market and great overseas.

I love the guy here who wants to shut down the franchise because Craig is leaving. people have been pedicting itng the end of the franchise When  a bond leaves ever since Sean Connory quit.

fact is, every Bond film, even the ones that underperformed have made a big profit for the studio Don't think that will change.

And people forget what a rough time Craig had a first. A lot of the Brosnan fanboys went berserk on the Internet. Rememer the "Craig Is Not Bond" campaign.

Skyfall acted like a Nolan blockbuster than an actual Bond film coz all the Nolan comparisons got Nolan fanboys curious.

I don't hink Nolan has had a really huge blockbuster since TDKR  Box office sucesses yes but not a massive blockbuster...,but yes, Skyfall did overperform compared to other Bond movies. And I think was due to the huge hype it got  because of the 50th Anniversary of the Bond franchise.

No Time to Die apparently has a 250 million dollar budget.  The chances of it making any kind of profit theatrically are very slim.  The PA and marketing budget has to be another 150 or so.  That's a shit load of money for a film to recoup in this market.

One of the quote tweets called A24 "a corporate machine ran by New York hipsters" and that's honestly such a great way to describe them.

Look at some of this merch. Low effort, high priced junk because they're just oh so artsy.

One of these mugs cost $15.

A mug only a mug would purchase

Quote

An origin story behind a young Tony Soprano and his father figure Dickie Moltisanti, “Many Saints” finished last weekend as the top performing film title on HBO Max — netting more than triple the audience of the next most viewed title, the streamer said. The movie has also outperformed other comparable films in its budget range, including recent releases like Hugh Jackman’s “Reminiscence” and Clint Eastwood’s “Cry Macho” (both underperformers at the pandemic-stricken box office).

More interestingly, perhaps, is that the nearly 15-year-old “Sopranos” broke HBO Max records for weekly viewing of a series, and nabbed the highest daily viewership in service history last Sunday. The Emmy winning show, topped by the late James Gandolfini, rose 65% in week-over-week viewing as “Many Saints” became available to subscribers. As with all streamers, exact viewership was not available and cannot be independently verified.

Well, that's one way to measure its success :sparta: :hahaha:

A new movie was the most watched on the platform the week it came out? No way! /s

I wonder how many times in 2021 has the new Warner Bros release not been HBO Max's top movie for that week? Maybe if some big studio movie is making its debut there--like if Tenet had hit HBO Max the same week Reminiscence had come out, I could possibly see it happening.

Product placement is part of lots of movies.  I'm just mentioning the budget because it's very high especially for this climate.
