Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny | June 30 2023 | Very mixed reviews out of Cannes

An Indy film with Ford is basically an Uncharted, Red Notice, Jungle Cruise etc.......  there's certainly demand for such films but enough demand for one of them to gross 1 billion? I don't think so.

The Paramount logo is there too. Hopefully we get another cross fade with the mountain logo at the start.

It’s a film where a woman plays a prominent role. Are we surprised it’s riling up the pathetic incels? Ignore them.

 

It looks great, and I’d take Phoebe Waller Bridge over Shia LaBoef any day.

I think this is the first Disney and Paramount collaboration since Popeye!

For some reason THIS is the film that has attracted ire from the Jordan Ruimy and Gamer Gate crowd. Apparently the goalposts have moved from "women-led films" to "any movie where a woman has a non-sexual speaking role."

 

Anyway, looks great, and the combo of early Cannes release plus Mangold getting a Star Wars would seem to indicate at least some confidence!
